Workers are subject to them selves and should follow their own dreams of success.
Management is the shepherd among the sheep, they should inspire the workers and let them fight through their challenges on their own and not making it worse by being a jerk, yet if they are in times of desperate trouble, management should help, but up to a point until the worker is back on his feet an still caring on.
So management has a big responsibility of keeping everyone safe, while the worker is following their dreams. What we think now of capitalism is not real capitalism, its monopolizism. The management keeps everyone in check, while not being a jerk about it, and the worker makes something of himself. The true American dream, maybe the world dream. |

| The description of 'true' capitalism you just provided only exists within your mind. There is no true form of one economic system or another, there's just that economic system. |

| You don't NEED to tell managers to treat employees nicely. Capitalism lets them know that the most profitable course would be to express reasonable amounts of kindness towards their workers. |

| Thanks to Ricardo, the science of economics involves stripping a system of all of its anomalies and quirks and looking at the barest version of it. So yes, there's no "true" manifestation of any economic system. But he's just describing it in its quintessence. |

| I'm taking up issue with the idiotic attempts to redefine capitalism in order to save it. What we have now is capitalism, and what we've had since the 1700's is capitalism. We shouldn't think up new ways to define the same economic system whenever the first line of criticism is extended. |

Markets are prone to instability. Especially the free ones. |

| But, there is still a bunch of loop holes. Capitalism must be defended from those who seek to abuse it, much like megalomaniacs |

well, you have to watch the movie to understand it. Apparently, one man named Mr. Potter took control over every thing in this town except for one company; The Bailey Building and Loan which George inherited from his father. George knew that Potter wanted to make a monopoly and keep everyone living in his slums, so George done all he could to keep him at bay. When the stock marked crashed in 1929, their was a run on the bank, so Potter decided to bail out the bank with his money and attempted to get George's customers over to himself and would give them 50 cents on the Dollar they had. George told everyone that Potter wasn't selling, he was buying. he knew that the crash gave Potter the chance to take over everything else because everyone was panicky and he wasn't. George told everyone that in order for them to get out of the depression, they had to stick together and have faith in each other. So George decided to give some of his own money to those who where desperate.
By the end of the movie, which was just after the end of WWII and George's brother who received the medal of honor was coming back to town. George's uncle, who worked for George, lost $8000 which was suppose to be deposited in the bank. Apparently, Potter stole it. The loss of this money meant bankruptcy and imprisonment. George then basically raged, then thats when the religious stuff comes in. His guarding angle came by, his name was Clarence, he was an Angle 2nd Class, so he hasn't gotten his wings yet. In order for him to get his wings he had to save George. George decided that it would be everyones best interests for him not to be born at all. So Clarence then granted George's wish, and he got to see what it be like if he hadn't been born. Potter had control of EVERYTHING, the town was renamed Pottersville, Everyone lived in slums, and everyone was down right miserable, even George's brother died by breaking through ice and was drowned at the age of 9, all because George wasnt there to save him. George came to realize he had a wonderful life. So he got his life back and then the famous scene begins when he says merry Christmas to everyone. As if by some miracle, Everyone that George helped out, gave him money, over 3 times more than he needed. That is true capitalism, one helps out the other, kindness and a little something for yourself. |

| That has become reality, but has lost its way. Because those that lead the corporations, have become monopolists. But what we must avoid, is Socialism, that the alternate universe of the other extreme of evil |

It was never reality.

Markets have a natural tendency toward oligopoly. This won't cease because we dream of a better world. |
