This is my review of their trailer and my prediction of their final product.
And to the people of Arrestare Films. I hope you actually take this seriously. It does supply a lot of knowledge.
My prediction may be wrong it is a prediction.
Don't know the video I am talking about?
It's called "Alien in 51 [Official Trailer #2]" paste that in the Youtube search bar.
REVIEW-
- I'm fine with having a cursor but you should crop your video better. 25 minutes of a cursor taking up the screen will be annoying. - I could tell when you said "go" in the first scene - You should of edited it better. People are standing still, then going. Edit out the "go" parts. - The action at 0:57 looked kinda fake. - The action at 1:10 looked fake. I know you will claim "we are blocks" but that is what I try my best at. "How can I work around this?" In my videos I try to do as much as I can. Running and jumping when the enemy has no aim isn't really intense or realistic - 1:18 What? He had a gun and deselected it and then ran around in circles. - Need better cutting at 1:34 Right when he hits the (what I am guessing to be a portal) the video should cut. He was walking on the portal. - Good music choice
PREDICTION-
- I feel like I will rate your video on an average video scale of 7/10, 5/10 or lower. I said 7/10 if I am interested enough to watch the video and the action is pretty good 5/10 if the action is boring and if I need to fight to stay awake. - My main prediction is that it will be too lengthy. Almost no one will watch the full video. They can say "It was good" but if they don't watch the whole video they didn't like it enough to watch the whole thing. - I feel like (from the trailer) they will have some good sets, maybe too much desert scenes, but good sets. If they use the sets well I don't know. - I also predict they will use bubble chat well. - The huge cursor in the screen will be very annoying. - I feel like the action will be bad and unrealistic. Even for blocks. (this is not official remember)
Other's Opinions
- From a (successful) movie maker's perspective I think they well go "meh" it won't be terrible but they'd never care to see it again.
- From the average ROBLOXian they will either A) Get bored and leave leaving you no reply.
B) They will get bored, leave or skip to the end and say they liked it. They will enjoy the nonROBLOX Recordness of it and because (I am guessing it won't be trash) They'll like it. Watch the full thing? Maybe a few but probably not. Watch it again? No.
k well I have no idea how to end this post so....bye? |

Thank you for your opinions. Highly appreciated to have a full one of this sort. You do know more than any of us on this kind of stuff, filming editing, characters, making a supportable and watchable video, and all of that sort. So we take your enthusiastic review and detailed suggestion list with great appreciation.
REVIEW-
-The cursor was a known problem and we were already too far into the movie before we could get a working tool to rid of it altogether. Also, if we did have a tool to get rid of it, it would've taken up too much screen and looked sloppy. -Yes, I know the "go"'s are most of the time obvious, but I was trying to add character, I suppose, to the scenes. I actually didn't say "go" in that scene, he started himself because we wanted to make it look like he paused before making his way towards the stairs. -Again, the "go" parts were to add character. Some were a mistake but the few I could edit out were the longer scenes that wouldn't be ruined altogether with shortened length. -0:57 was from the teaser trailer, not apart of the movie. Used in this one to fill up an action slot. -At 1:10, I'm pretty sure that's the best we could do with that. Plus it's edited further in the actual movie. -At 1:18, an alien is trying to sneak up on Ryder, but the lazer does not really do shortrange and so we wanted to give a close-up action scene that was better than him just shooting him and the blockman exploding into limbs. -We wanted to show at 1:34 that the portal's teleportation device was located at the center, not the edges or inner rings, but the very center. -Thank you. I thought for a long time on what music to choose.
PREDICTION-
-Rate it on whatever you like. Everyone will have different views of the movie, I feel like you and I got off to a bad start with all of this criticism that it's tainted your view of what we're going to produce, but I'm just saying that because I feel worse that I wasn't more mature when you gave your opinion. So hopefully you'll rate it highly, but it's in the end up to you. -Almost no one watches a full video, yes, but on ROBLOX people are given little to work with to keep it interesting. Tried to input suspenseful music and sound effects frequently to keep the anti high for people to keep watching. Though there will, of course, be a few who just leave. It happens with every movie. -The desert was actually barely used, (the Area 51 compound or the desert scene with jeeps?) but Area 51 was the main set for the entire movie. Expressing that fully was what we did. The underground compound was also used frequently because that was the precipice of the movie. -Yes. We used bubble chat well. Regular chat is sloppy. -Not really huge. Some people will be turned off by it, but as stated above, it was too late before we could change it to be unequal views of the movie. -I know we've used the blocks excuse already, but it's really true. You do action very well, I know, but you've been at this much longer than we have. I'm hoping we'll be given slack because this is our "company's" FIRST MOVIE, so hopefully you'll appreciate what's given and know that we truly gave it all we could've.
Other's Opinions
-The successful people will go "meh" probably, but that's because they know the ins and outs of success and we don't yet. We're just getting started.
-A) I'm going to guess some people will do that. It's natural for people on this kind of website to have a short attention span but hopefully the people of ROBLOXiwood have a longer one and can go through the entire movie.
B) Again, there's always going to be people like that. I'll take any compliment, because they took that time to write something nice about our film we've worked on for the first time at this scale. Of course people will enjoy the non-ROBLOX recordness of it because people like genuine editing. It won't be trash, period. People will hopefully like it, and I'm betting many will. I do think some people will watch it again, but I think it might be, for some people, one of those movies that's good enough to be able to stick in their heads and not have to be watched again because they were glued to the screen in that way. Hopeful thinking, yes, but it doesn't hurt to be optimistic.
