They (might) teach palindromes, and onomatopoeias, but what they (most of the time) DON'T teach is semordnilaps. A semordnilap is a word that is another word backwards. For example, evil is live backwards. Semordnilap is palindromes backwards. Six backwards is xis (the plural of xi which is the 14th letter of the Greek alphabet). EXAMPLES OF PALINDROMES: Stats, poop, mom, dad, pop, tattarrattat, detartrated, rotavator, madam, redivider, and finally, a sentence palindrome: Madam, I'm Adam. EXAMPLES OF ONOMATOPOEIAS: Pop, tattarrattat, bark, ring, knock, boom, bang, meow, moo, oink, haha, etc.
Post any semordnilaps you know here! |

Me too, I study words and math over break even though we get to get AWAY from school.
Although at school they teach this stuff, I don't fit in because I already know everything they're "teaching" me. |

Did they teach you the name?
Btw, did you read the beginning article? I said MOST OF THE TIME. That doesn't mean they never teach it. |
