| I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop, and it's processor isn't too great, as it has 1.0 GHz. On this computer, I want to play StarCraft 2, which I can play okay, but my computer lags a lot when playing it (its not the Internet, because it works on my Dad's computer). Do you think purchasing more RAM will increase my performance, or purchasing a better processor/computer is the only way out? |

Laptops aren't really gaming computers, but if you insist.
Get some more RAM and it might improve your refresh rate with your processor so that you can run better. For maximum enhancing, I would suggest buying both RAM and a processor. |

| You can't upgrade the processor in a laptop. |

I wouldn't really go to the hassle of getting a new processor, you may as well buy a new laptop/desktop.
I have a Toshiba Satelitte too, which I am hoping to change, I just gave it some more RAM (3GB), and downgraded it to Windows XP. Now it works like a charm!
Also, if your computer is old - Toshiba Laptops have a problem with dust, which I sorted out by using a dry vacuum every 2 months!

1 GHZ processor? Is that an APU or is it about a decade old? |

| Okay, I probably won't downgrade to XP, but I'll think about getting more RAM. =) |

| If you want to play good games, but a new one. You can't upgrade the processor in a laptop and yours is terrible. |

Clock speed doesn't determine performance, it is a factor - but you cannot judge how well a PC will perform from the Clock speed.
For an example, I have a Single Core 2.1GHz, with an integrated graphics card, and it can run TF2 flawlessly. While my friend's 2.66GHz dual core cannot even run it! And he has a better graphics card.

| If the processor is only 1GHz then it's probably old enough that no matter what you upgrade it won't run Starcraft very well. I wouldn't waste time trying to upgrade it. |

| I can actually play StarCraft 2 decently, it's just that when n00bs mass big armies of cheap units, I lag. I think just more memory should do.. but I may be wrong. I mean I just bought this laptop two months ago, and it would seem silly buying a new one. :( |

That shouldn't happen. Does he have 512mb of RAM? |

[Extending Oysi's post]
There could be a virus on the system. There could be a OS deficiency. etc.

Your computer is...disgusting. I recommend getting a new machine.
Your CPU's benchmark is 453 PassMark points, which is around the same as a Pentium 4 @ 3GHz. (Yes, Pentium! LOL!) If you would like to do anything other than surf the web, get one with 1500+ points. |

Search "McSherry Group LLP". I bought a PC from them, and it was pretty good. They're just setting up an online store too! (If I were you, I'd look at the "Tungsten" section. I have a T8A and it's pretty damn good!) |

I think he has a GPU incompatibility or something - but has an i5 m560 in his Dell XPS 17.

@Wurst
You shouldn't post that here, but never the less I was interested in that website you posted. I looked at some of the computers, and I got to say - it has some new deals.
Hmm, I am interested in the model T16A - Do I have to use paypal to buy it? |

@Night
Yeah, you have to pay through paypal. They charged me a small shipping fee, it was under £20. Can't remember how much exactly, but it wasn't too bad considering the thing weighed quite a bit. |

@Oysi
Well technically he cannot play it. He can run it, but it lags to such a rate that it is not playable.
