There have been way too many Ooc threads on this Forum lately that are either;
- Irrelevant - Lacking Proper Grammar - Failed Trolling Attempts
Goodness gracious, I'm sorry, I had to point this out.
Chatroom style I've never been involved in, so I will stay neutral on this subject. |

| If during a texting sequence, I guess it can be used. I occasionally use it, but only if I have like 22 characters. |

Chatroom style, is kind of like this:
Character A: HELLO GUYS *Waves hand* Character B: OH HAI *Waves hands* Both: *Shakes hands*
Yeah.... |

| Well, sorry that I insulted the chat room style that's so used by respectable RPers. |

Pickachu, What does chatroom style have to do with being respectable?
You may use any style and be worthy of respect. :

| I haven't really seen chatroom style be used by anyone today, at all. Even the newbies don't use that style these days. |

Pickachu, "Even the newbies don't use that style" Because you all treat it as if it was first degree manslaughter. :

| Me, I personally think it doesn't look aesthetically pleasing, but if you insist on that reasoning, fine. |

Aesthetically pleasing? Well, that's you opinion.
It could be much neater depending on how one does it, though. Chat RP doesn't necessarily have to be untidy.
It could be, for example, *He wields his staff.* instead of simply *wields staff*. It doesn't necessarily need to be an asterix that is used, either; I go with /He wields his staff/ instead.
Quotation marks can easily be used to mark speech if they please.
So basically, instead of
Cory: *wields staff* I'll believe it when I see it.
It could be
Cory: /He wields his staff./ "I'll believe it when I see it."
It all depends on how you use it. :

...That's a good point though... I guess I should say sorry for insulting the ChatRP style, even though it's nearly dead, but that's just my opinion.
I'm honestly curious, do you use this ChatRP style as your main style, or are you just angry at me insulting it? It's just a question though, and you can choose if you don't want to answer it. |

I use a mixture of chatroom and narrative roleplaying styles. Though I may be biased, I believe it looks quite clean.
(Ie, Asterisks when it is only an action, and quotation followed by the action like so: "Hello world!" The programmer yelled, charging at the oncoming virus with such intense vigour that the author could not figure out how to describe it.)

I don't use Chat RP that often, nor am I angry at you.
I'm just making a point that pretty much "outlawing" Chat RP is a pretty stupid thing to do because it is fairly simple to use and understand if it is done right. |
