In a Pirateship game, how would trading and Pillaging a ship work or look like?

List how the interface would look like and functionality.

You should send a trade request to a user which they must accept. Then they are able to accept/decline.

Pillaging would work like you go onto their ship, and you need to get inside the captian's quarters. Inside you can lock the door and open a chest with money and loot inside it.

Well I want the hold to be part of the ship, so you pillage goods that they can also trade.

Exactly. You get goods from pillaging then trade them for things that would be even more useful to you.

Also, when you kill a guy, you should get one random item from their inventory.

Make door wich leads to ship cargo spaxe, but actually its a teleport to a local room somewhere.When the pillagers go thru the door they can take the stoof they want and go awai. Also the ship owner could rearrange the stuff ther to make it slower to pillage or watever.

On phone so cant teat what its like so this wud propably not work well.

When ships sink, they drop a tiny percentage of all loot and cash in the ship's public storage room.

The captain can set whether the crew can access this room.

Pillaging would just be a player boarding the ship, and taking stuff from this room. These 'pillagers' wouldn't need to obey the ship's settings.

Trading is alot more complex. Official trades cannot be made with ships of the same team, (Unofficial trades are 'sketchy') and not with enemies. Only neutral and allied teams' ships can trade. To start a trade, you musts be on land. At a post office or trade center, you must pay a tiny pinch of gold coins for someone to hold on to a note requesting trade from a certain ship. Next time they land in that port, they will get the request.

You can also pay double for the note to be copied and sent out to all ports. Of course, you can use chat to simply say you want the ship to land and retrieve the request, too.

If denied, the ship that requested trade is automatically notified. If accepted, a waypoint will be set for both ships' crews. They will find each other using these waypoints and once within a preset trading perimeter, the trading GUI will open.

There are two trade menus, the Supplies menu and the Crew menu. What items and what quantity in each menu is decided by the captain in the ship's settings. Trading on the Supplies menu is only done by the two captains, to decide which supplies and treasure each ship want. The Crew menu can allow trade between any member of the two crews.

Unofficial trade is simply going up to another player and clicking 'Trade with user'. In this trade menu, you can steal items but it has a low chance of succeeding and all stolen items are dropped when the robber is killed.

You should need to go to a port/trade to trade. And if anyone tries to attack people at the port, cannons shoot the enemies making it very difficult to do so.

Pillaging should only work when the ship is under half health. During this time, any nearby ships can 'stop' the ship if they have more health.

example:

ship one has 1000/2000 health

ship two has 1500/2000 health

ship two can stop ship one's ship if it gets close enough

example 2:

ship one has 1500/3000 health

ship two has 1350/2000 health

ship one has half health, but ship two doesn't have more health so ship stopping cannot commence


Once the ship is stopped, the ship being attacked can be freed by killing everyone on board the attacking ship and/or sinking the attacking ship.

The attacking ship can loot the other persons ship by going to the hold, (what radio suggested with the hold). Then leaving with what they have or sinking the other ship.

That game is awesome. Perhaps trade centers that have AI merchants that can 'trade' with you as well as player merchants. Variety
