Hey, Game Design forums.
The Lost Scripture is currently in major development; it was just started up a couple days ago so about another year or 2 for development unless I get some people to help. But anyways, here are some of the concepts.
The Lost Scripture itself has yet to be defined in the story yet. It will most likely involve dark caves and big boss battle at the end.
Concepts:
Group Based Gaming: I have seen countless amount of games created that are focused are you just powerleveling yourself. I want to implement Groups; where you need groups to play the end game content. From level 1-15 you can pretty much solo anyone but then you will need to invite people to your party (up to 6) to be able to defeat the bosses. To prevent from just getting a higher level to do it all for you, you can only invite people 4 levels above you and 4 below to your party. Of course their will be group chat.
Guilds: There will be guilds but the guild can only be created by a level 50+
Item Dropping: Gold will not be the only thing dropping out of bosses, but rare equipment as well. On opening of the chest that will drop out of the boss, it does a round robin loot and it randomizes who wins (item then appears in your inventory).
Auction House: I will add an auction house. This will be difficult but it is possible. If your server shuts down, it automatically transfers your items back into your inventory or bank. When you leave it will stay unless the server closes. You will recieve mail with your cash inside if it is sold.
Mail: Mail will be cross-server as long as the person has played the game.
Amount of Players: The game on launch will only support 12 players, but as people hit the max level of 50 I will launch an Expansion Pack (More levels [probably 5 or 10 more] more bosses, and possibly server expansion for harder bosses) maybe it will support 20 players now.
I understand that this is a lot to do but it will be completed in another year or 2.
It will always be public because I want peoples thoughts and ideas but this game will not be expecting an official launch until late 2012 or mid 2013. |

The storyline should be of a Paige who is within a library one day flipping through the ancient books of [INSERT EPIC MEDIEVAL NAME HERE], when he stumbled upon a secret, lost chapter encoded on the manuscript, or hidden in a certain book/table.
The chapter will explain the wondrous city that connects the earth and the heavens so they may become one with the gods. This sends the player off on a quest to get to this city, and to obtain the treasure there...
all while following the lost scripture. |

There is simply no way you can have inter-server communication. Roblox Has not implemented that idea yet, and is impossible to code, in all retrospect...
If Roblox does add some sort of feature that allows this to happen, then, this is possible, but till then... |

@grimy I never really check out mod-Venture, I was shooting for this game to be extremely innovative
@DrDoom
Short Story Version: There is a very powerful spell book that has fallen into a dark lords grasp. The problem is, is that no one knows where he is hidden and their is a page missing. |

Is there a base skill required to help? I know some Lua, but probably not enough to be of major use. I do have ideas though.
Quests; Try not to have too many party quests, these tend to be more troublesome if there are selfish people in your party.
Affiliations; Certain NPC guilds will be pitted against others. Which guilds you do tasks for will determine your affiliation.
Classes; I'm a big fan of class-based gameplay; maybe for this, it'd be loosely constructed. (No major restrictions, but classes are present.)
Notoriety/Infamy; two names that do pretty much the same thing; maybe Guilds could be based off these things?
Disaster System; one thing I'm working on independently for my own use, but I can share better than some. :3 Basically, disasters will strike random towns/cities/hamlets throughout the game. Implications for failing aren't relevant for the moment; I'm still trying to make it work. |

I love it~! It will be hard to create and I am not such a wiz at scripting but I will help with any requirements you need just send any questions to me and I will se if I can make them.
I will help with any shops or screenguis that don't require any advanced scripts. |

You can't have EVERYONE have 4 players above, and 4 players below. HELLO? Plus that adds up too 9, not 6, meaning that your game would basically consist of 1 server full of people running around killing things.

@DeadPan
I would love any help. If I don't get help AT ALL, this game could take 3 years.
Quests: No, there will always be one-man quests. The party ones are the end-game content battles.
Affiliations: That's exactly what I was thinking. Planning on adding battle-grounds for PvP as well.
Classes: There are going to be loose class based (Where is you need to, you can go to a Priestess and you can rebuild your character to whatever you want) (Warrior/Healer/Archer)
Notoriety/Infamy: There will be bars, that will be based off reputation. If you do a bunch of quests for a rival guild, some of your rep will be lost to 1 guild down to the level of (:Hated)
Disasters: I wasn't planning on this, but I WAS going to continuous invasions. (i.e lf you don't clear out this camp they will attack the village) |

@Quenty that's why I am adding a Dynamic Server system. On enterance of a server it will ask if you want to be on a high-level server or low leveled. (It will not ask you this if you are below level 20.
I don't think I made myself clear. If you are level 50 you can only invite people level 46+ to your group. If you are level 1 you can only invite people level 4 and below. |

@Guarranteed
Would the guild ranking work like this?
Loved > Friendly > Undecided > Disliked > Hated
Being a member of said guild would have its own status as 'Joined'.
As well as the continuous invasions thing, I can see how that would/could be boring after a time. Can baddies repopulate? |

Loved > Friends > Neutral > Disliked > Hated
Just being a member would make you "Neutral"
I haven't thought of that, and yes they can. I was planning on the invasion thing being able to be held off by the average guard of the town. But, it can be a nice quick side quest. (Like, a quick 500g and 100xp) |
