## ***This is going to be long. If you don't want to read, don't post.*** ##
Problem: There are many amazing video games out there, like The Legend of Zelda, Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, and Black Ops.
But, what is it that makes these games amazing? Is it the graphics? The gameplay? The storyline? The graphics?
It takes all of these things to make a good game. But there's one thing and only one thing that can make a good game into a great game.
Music.
Music is what sets the mood of a certain area, it's what sets the mood of a level. A single song could easily define an entire area. If only a game where areas could vary from the simplest of suburbs to vast expanses of medieval land had more than ten songs to play.
----------
Solution: Add a SongPart.
----------
Before you reply, read the rest of the post. The last thing I need is people saying, "NO ROBLOX WILL GET SUED AND GO OUT OF BUSINESS, NOOB. GET OFF THE FORUMS."
The SongPart will work like this: Select a brick, any brick. When you select it, a sidebar will appear (like for the Terrain tools). When you click on the "Create Song" button (it'd be a musical note) you would be able to access the Create Song Window.
THE CREATE SONG WINDOW: It would be a Mario Paint-esque window that pops up when you click on the "Create Song" button. You'll see a treble and bass clef, with choices on whether to make it 4:4 or 3:4. You'd also find different Roblox symbols, each of which represents a different sound. There will also be a question mark on one of the corners which explains how the Create Song window works. It would explain each of the sounds, how to place the notes to create a song, and how to integrate it into your place best.
It would work exactly like Mario Paint, except with a bass clef as well as a treble.
If you don't know what Mario Paint is, open a new tab right now and Google it.
SOUNDS/VOICES:
*Snare drum
*Strings
*Bass
*Guitar
*Bells
*8-bit beep
*Some of the sounds already on Roblox (i.e. rocket, slingshot, bullet, etc.)
More will be added on or taken away later.
RULES AND HOW THEY WOULD WORK:
1. No making places based specifically on the song you made. Simply put, there won't be a place with a single brick and music coming from it. Clubs or dance places with user-created music would be okay, but NOT a place with a single brick and music coming from it.
2. Reproducing copyrighted material is fine, mainly because there won't be enough sounds to actually make it sound like anything copyrighted.
More will be added on or taken away later.
BENEFITS:
Roblox would become a brighter place, with better-quality games and better-quality music. The general public will have a better response to the game if they were to hear a new-age song in Solar Conquest, or perhaps generic Christmas music in a holiday place. This will lead to more, potentially older, potentially more experienced people playing Roblox, which leads to better-quality games. And so the cycle continues, ad infinitium, until the end of time.
Read and critique.

Then I read the post.
I was thinking at first, "What if the music was inappropriate?" I then read next paragraph.
SOLVED.
I was thinking "What are the benefits?"
SOLVED.

Real Problem: You don't know the definition of great games.
And you didn't support or not support, you just said because this section is false, I don't support.

You show immaturity. Wether or not a game is good cannot be true or false, for it is an opinion. He likes those games, and you don't. Leave it at that.

You could have said "The Legend of Zelda games and Black Ops." You don't need all that extra mess. If you were making a point, it was lost on me.
"It takes all of these things to make a good game. But there's one thing and only one thing that can make a good game into a great game."
So a game MUST have music for it to be great? Even if the graphics, story, and gameplay were phenomenal? I think you overrate music a little. Anyway, I think it's a good idea - but scriptable. I would be very excited if Roblox implemented this but I'm not gonna hold my breath. |

If I didn't like the music I could just turn off the sound.
Counter-question: Could you play a bad game with good music for very long? |

No, because it's a bad game. I'd probably keep the music on, but I wouldn't actually play.
