A new law, SOPA, may be passed, which allows any websites containing copyright material without exact permission to be shut down. So, for example, you posted a picture you had drawn of say....Sonic. You would be fined, and maybe go to jail. ROBLOX contains lots of such material, so if this passes ROBLOX is pretty much doomed

@waterkid, the new bill trying to be passed will allow big companies to shut down any site if they think they are infringing on their copyrights.
Any site.
No matter when the content was posted.
Any time. |

I don't think ROBLOX would get sued.
They probably have like a giant disclaimer that they do not hold responsibility for copyrighted material and that it is your problem, not theirs. |

The site can be sued for any content posted by the users.
The site has to take full responsibility for anything user-made. |

Don't want this law to pass? Act on it. Sign petitions, refer to your representatives. Do ANYTHING you can. Theres tons of websites with petitions posted. |

Due Process of Law You can't be charged for something you did before a law has been taken into effect. ROBLOX is safe from this if they have a way to stop these stuff from being published AFTER the law is passed.

@water If you're referring to the chans, then youmustbenewhere. They are in a huge risk ALREADY because of other laws. And plus, why would you think they have a huge anti-SOPA link on top of each board? HURRRR *facepalm* |

Besides, major companies and sites are trying to fight it. E.G. Google, Facebook, Yahoo, many blog sites. |
