When a user posts a comment that is clearly spam and gets caught, Moderators should be able to "mute" them. This would prevent the user from posting comments at all for a certain amount of time. (24 Hours, 3 Days, 1 Week, etc) While this solution could be bypassed by alts, it might help to stop repeat offenders, and again it would serve as a good deterrent against spammers. There could also be an "IP Mute" feature that would have the same effect as the regular mute except that it would stop an IP from posting comments instead of a user. This addition would allow the mute feature to be much more effective and it would be a much less severe alternative to banning an IP entirely.

Is "Mute" just for so THE PERSON WHO MUTES IT CAN'T SEE THE COMMENTS BY THE ONE WHO GETS MUTED AT ALL, not the person not being able to comment anything?

| You must also include Foruming in that "Mute" idea. |
