"a bad solution to the "AMERICA IS FAT OMG" stereotype"
It's a statistic, not an opinion, that most Americans are overweight*.
In the 1990s, 24% of Americans were overweight. In 2009, that number was up to 36%. That number is up, although I haven't looked at the CDC website in a while, it makes me depressed about my country.
It's most certainly not a stereotype, but a scary fact of life. |

We ban salt in our cafeteria lunches. We also declare pizza a vegetable.
I hate America sometimes.

sorry, many* Americans, not most.
Wrong word.
those numbers are just too high. I live in a state where the overweight rate is pretty low, so I can only imagine what it must be like on the East coast. |

last time I drank anything other than water or soup/soup-stew-water was like a year ago.
it helps a lot, especially with pimples and feeling sluggish all day. it's all that HFCS that put in everything.
good thing I live near a store that imports lots of food from places that don't use HFCS. mexican bread loafs, oohhh they're always so warm and crispy, fresh from the oven.
also, don't eat ANY kind of food that comes in a bag, is sealed and comes from Frito-Lays (tm), or anything similar.
best just to buy lots of fruit and eat that when you get hungry.
soon your stomach will start shrinking, literally, and you won't be so hungry anymore. also, try to eat as little meat as possible. |

if you absolutely must eat meat, the best things you can eat are boiled chicken soup, baked fish, or grilled chicken. don't add any grease, at the most, rub a little low fat, low chol. butter on them, if you still want that extra flavor.
however, if you get accustomed to not eating salt at all, you soon won't notice it.
taste is like our other senses, once you smell or dont smell something long enough, you get used to it and literally can't tell the difference; it's all relative and in your head. |

Well, most of us are NOT fat, epecially Maine. More people there out outside and running or biking rather than driving. The east coast isn't bad. |

"Dammit, stop taking all the fun out of eating."
Actually, I'm kind of a pig when it comes to eating.
I'm just a healthy eating pig ;)
Lol, don't get the idea that I'm some hippy that measures every single soy bean going into my vegan shake. I eat meats, poultry fish, and dairy, but just rarely.
If you are barely starting trying to get to a healthy weight, and small meals don't fill you up, I suggest buying some "linaza", don't know what it's called in spanish, but it's a fibre, vitamin, mineral and healthy enzyme supplement. All the fibre it has really swells up in your stomach and makes you feel full, so you eat less.
better than surgery. |

"hink about it though, junk food is cheaper than healthy food."
oh boy.. not this argument again.
healthy food can be just as easy to make/buy. actually, it's cheaper.
you're just brainwahsed by the giant junk food corporations.
okay, you let's do some math
bashes food store ||| ranch market
doritoes......1.15USD | 2bags of wheat bread loafs....59USD ea=1.18USD mountained dew...1.10USD | water from watermill thing .25USD a gallon=1.25USD more doritos cuz you gota get suma a dat sh$% | premium ham sliced at the deli for you...99c a lb=99c
hostess cupcakes 12 pack:7.24USD | carrots 1.99 lb = 1.99 USD
this is only part of my shopping list, but let's add it up
junk food: 11.89USD for one, maybe two days of food, if you can make it last.
other food, for 4 days, easily, bread loafs come in bags of 6: 5.41USD
5.41USD vs 23.78
right, junk food is cheaper ;) keep telling yourself that excuse |

@ghjop
yes, it does, but overall if people look you will find that stuff. honestly though, I rarely see a medium bag of junk food, which is half filled with air, btw, go for under a USD.
if you have access to both of those options, you don't have too many legit reasons for picking junk food, other than laziness and not caring about your body. |

Getting rid of salt would be getting rid of a lot of food. A LOT of food has salt. |
