Welcome to Ponychat, a soon to be series of threads discussing various topics related to the Television series: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I plan to continue this until either I get tired, or I get kicked out. Hopefully, the latter.
Now, this thread is quite a simple one: Is the franchise a good thing, or is a cancer effecting the Roblox Forums?
What many people seem to forget is that My Little Pony is, indeed a MEME. Just like Shoop Da Whoop, and Rage Comics, it is an internet meme. What makes My Little Pony such an interesting meme, however, is that it is the first of its kind. The show gave birth to many seperate memes that are still used in jest, mostly by fellow "Bronies". Such "miniature memes" would include "Yay", "20 percent Cooler", "Trollestia", and so on.
But enough about its backround, we are here to discuss if ponies can be too much of a bad thing to this forum. Is it a cancer? There is no exact answer; it all depends on how many people support and/or go aganist the theme. If more people are against it, then it would seem that such a theme is disapproved, and any attempt to bring it up would bring flame wars and the like. But if more people approved, then would it seem like a warm community, or a "ponified" forum? Many people can argue that it is the haters that make it so popular, but we will really never know for sure.
So, as a sort of "poll" to this whole thing, It is time to make a vote. Do you think That My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is a cancer to the Roblox Forums? Yes or No?

All TL;DRs go away.

| yes they are a cancer,and i'm sick and tired of bronies using the same excuse to back the show up, "good plot and characters." SO?! BSG has good plot and characters, so does farscape,and firefly,heck, i could name about 50 different shows with good plots and characters. |

@madnesscombat
If you want a more detailed, yet brief, explanation, I'll gladly give it to you.
1. Plot and morals - The plots of each episodes are very child friendly, which is necessary to a show like this. Each episode, save the first episode of each season, also cleverly gives a proper moral that people, including adults, really should follow in life.
2. Characterization - Every main character has her own personality with which a person could most likely relate. They feel three dimensional, and not some splotches of color places on a flat, digital canvas. Most, if not all, characters have had episode dedicated to just her in order to flesh out her character. There is more depth to a person than just bubbly, depressed, honest, and such, and the show acknowledges that.
3. Writing - The writing is pure genius in the way it can make subtle references to adult shows and still keep it kid-friendly. The writers also know what they're doing when writing dialogue their characters. Very rarely, if not never, is somebody out of character. You can clearly see the love that the writers have for this show. It's very apparent in the songs as well. The production value for each song is great and wonderfully written lyrically.
4. Animation/Art/Sound Design - The insane attention to detail gives adult audiences a greater appreciation to the show that kids will not even notice. Small things like headbobs, foot steps, fluent walk cycles, and even things such as the shape and color of the eyes are acknowledged by the animators and sound designers. Small details will always attract a person to something because it shows the dedication and love the creator(s) have for their product.
5. The Community - Probably the biggest part of the love is the community itself. Every brony tries their best to follow the morals that the show teaches and the community even promotes its law of "Love and Tolerance" towards everyone. That's not to say that there are the close-minded ones in the fandom, but that's inevitable in every fanbase. There is also a multitude of fanfics, fan created characters with detailed backstories, original music, games, and music videos created every day. Everyone is supportive of one another and will try to encourage each other to continue doing what they do and create something incredible.
Now, this doesn't mean that you HAVE to be a fan. Everyone has a right to an opinion, but that doesn't make something bad or good. People can like horrible things, and people can hate great things. Taste doesn't decide the quality of a work, the actual work does. |

| Also, you have to consider the fact that My Little Pony is marketed towards a young female demographic. These types of shows are almost always terrible and finally seeing something out of that which appeals to men and females alike, AND is actually a good show is completely unheard of. |

| I think MLP:Fim fails it just the fact that it made my brother like men. |

I never said a sow that nobody's head of. I said that its high quality is unheard of in shows that primarily targets young females as its audience.
Also, just because a show is not well know, it doesn't mean that it's automatically one of the greatest shows ever. It just shows that you really love TV much like how some people can state good but almost unknown games, movies, cartoons, anime, comics, and other things in different mediums. |

@XNappaX
Come back when you're not ignorant, please. It's obvious that the OP actually wants a coherent discussion here.
@Nikki
If you want to defend something it's necessary to have a grasp on the topic, don't you think? |
