Time zones, time zones, they're a big issue on sites such as ROBLOX. When we say training is at 4pm Eastern Time, we don't know where to look for GMT Time! Most users are therefore using Time Zone converters, a very wise idea.
However, what time does ROBLOX use? Here it says exactly when I posted because ROBLOX uses a specific time. So pretty obviously, why don't we all use the time ROBLOX uses?
As you all should know, right at top of the screen you have your advertisement, then your robux, and then you got all the different places where you might need to go, e.g. My ROBLOX, Catalog, People, Contests, Forums...
Up there, there will be another one saying 'Clock'. Clicking it will send you to a page with a big clock. Simple, no? Then we have the issue that players might not have their time. So on the side of the clock there is written different capital cities such as London, Rome, Washington DC, Sydney etc. Next to their name, there are two boxes. The first one shows the current time there and the second shows how to convert ROBLOX time to the time in that city.
So this makes it easier for players. They convert someone elses' time to ROBLOX and then that to theirs (or they could just look at the difference of conversion between theirs and the other players').
Now, the wisest ROBLOXians wouldn't say 'Meet me here at 4pm GMT Time.' They'd realise that the clock isn't that useful when converting to there, so they'd say 'Meet me at 3am ROBLOX Time.' This means that the players only need to convert once. Still, there are some people who won't think of this brilliant idea and will just carry on the old way. Those who need to arrive to where they ask at the time can now use the clock, though.
There are some flaws in this idea. Someone will say, 'Oh, meet me at 5pm.' Now nobody knows when that could be. Is it ROBLOX Time or is it another time? Hopefully someone has enough time to ask them when, and hopefully the asker isn't a noob who doesn't know his/her time zone (Yes, you'd be surprised at the amounts that don't). Apart from that, I don't see any more problems.
Ah, sorry, a little extra: Could ROBLOX possibly use their clock in-game to create day and night scripts using it? I am not an expert in that area, so you tell me. I invite your views on this idea.

| I was looking for something like this. I support, but as you say it could cause some problems if someone doesn't say what time zone. |

| So basically, the ROBLOX Time Zone would be Pacific Time? |

Brilliant.

But you know that's gonna use lots of PHP/Java/Flash etc?
Making clocks are a complicated thing. Especcialy tracking where you are, unless you downloaded a program and it tracks the satellite to know where you are. |

| The thing about this clock is it doesn't track down where you are, you just need to find the closest capital city. |

It's a list of capital cities on the right-hand side of the clock. For example:
LONDON | GMT Time | +6 from ROBLOX Time ROME | European Time | +7 from ROBLOX Time PARIS | European Time | +7 from ROBLOX Time
And so on... |

| If we were to write down the countries and not the capital cities, that would be misleading. Russia, United States and Canada all use different time zones, so I doubt San Francisco uses the same time as Washington DC. Capital cities of the states, though, would tell me more. |

| Brilliant Idea but instead of clicking it you should just have it by your TIX |

| Nick, there are thousands of capital cities. The list could consume a whole page. |

I once said to my pal in my group that 'there's a meeting at 7:00 (Central time)', but he got confused. When I went to my group meeting place, he went there at 7:00 Eastern time instead, because he lives in Eastern Time while I live in Central Time. |

Oops, mistake.
When I went to my group meeting place at 7:00 central time, he wasn't there because he went there at 7:00 Eastern time (it's 7:00 in central time, while it's 8:00 in eastern time)* |

| Heres a question: would it make more sense to use GMT Time or the currently used time (Eastern Time)? |

@Dss
It depends on if you live in the US or not. |

| Well, making clocks which track down your location is hard, so I'd rather this clock didn't find out whether you live in the US or not. |
