ATTN: Mods This is not supposed to be a flame war, just a constructive discussion. _
In this thread I would like to discuss this question: If god is almighty, then he equals infinity, right? Well, something is nothing when compared to infinity, how do you explain this paradox, christians? |

Religion =/= scientifically proven
A discussion will not make any sense. |

I cannot, I am not a full Christian, real christians don't believe in evolution and science, I do believe in these two things meaning even if I did explain it, it would be irrelevant.
Anyway you will be banned because the moderators don't like anything targeted at christians and some christians will get angry about it. |

@Poep I know, but I've seen so many christians arguing with atheists in OT, why not start a valid discussion? |

@dsRaypin, because
''If god is almighty, then he equals infinity, right? Well, something is nothing when compared to infinity, how do you explain this paradox, christians?''
is referring to a scientific statement/fact.
Maybe they do not recognize infinity to be equal to almighty. Or they have other meanings to the word ''infinity''.
Etcetera.
Just saying that you will not come any further. |

| This isn't science, just philosophy. Science is when you can prove something, this is just a theory based on thoughts. |

Humans change on their surroundings, thats how the human brain works. Science is only limited to two points: Infinity and nothing, which are the two values science can't define because we can simply not imagine "infinity" and "nothing", because we are "something". Why do you believe in such, and why do you not believe science? I mean, science is something that was thought and thought and thought over until somebody came to a result, while religion only beliefs and follows a book. Science shows valid proofs in existence, or do you not believe in gravity and such? |

Because something that existed before time and space (Before the big-bang) is literally infinite and nothing at the same time, which is a state that's impossible to get. And even so; Who created god? What if it's a neverending cycle and the big bang ended another universe while starting a new one?
The big bang is just a theory. The theory that there is a god who created everything isn't even so wrong; but "Christianity" is based on the 2nd century, where god was the answer for everything the humans didnt understand. Today, we understand things better, but religions still exist and have been abused in the past 2000 years. Belief is one hand, but belief is and has been abused by religion. |

I'm a ex christian.
I've compiled several interesting things.
Most lucky things tend to happen to people who believe in Christ. Although the bible does not say they will ALWAYS have it, a large amount of Christians live happier and easier lives than us Atheists.
Creepy crap happens to those who insult or don't accept god.
My preacher taught a man about god, he said he'll accept him TOMORROW, rode off on his motorcycle, and died about a hour later in a traffic accident.
At a funeral a few months ago, the preacher was talking about how we may die at any moment, and as soon as he finished the message, he died of a heart attack.
Shall I continue? |

| Actually, the answer to life isn't something, it's nothing. There is no true sense to it, and the only reason we exist is because we are on the right side of the equation. Existence and negative existence balance each other and result in 0. To explain this theory a further more I'm going to give you an example: When you move your arm to the right side, you are taking up the space of the right side now but not anymore of the left side. |

And plus, according to MY preacher, if you are saved at some point, no matter what you do, you'll go to heaven.
It's a nice option to fall back on. Plus, there's going to be a big fiery beast anyways, which the bible describes, before the rapture itself, and the death of us all.
That way, I can easily fall back on that. |
