Im trying to figure out a game idea wich as many people as possible like and it must be extendable (=I must be able to add content as much as i like...)
Also discuss about what features make a game good or bad.
Stuff ive noticed to make a game bad: -People who play against the rules can hurt you or your team. -You are punished for doing something without being able to avoid it. (like accidentally shooting a team mate because he was ramboing in the enemy base when you nuked it o.e) -Game is messy (many games with building, games that use tools and have 10 different tools with different controls and stuff and it takes 10 secs to find your knife to stab das enemy) -If you die or something, it takes a long time to get back to the situation where you were. Like slow vehicles, big map, or if you lose progress when you die. -Glitchy weapons (weapons that dont hit their target if its too close, or if theyre granades or soemthing and spawn 10 studs from you and glitch and fly to the other side of the map and still manage to kill you somehow)
Ideas i came up with (copypasta imagination ftw):
-Survival ?0? series / settla&survive type (=game with crafting) game, one of these: *One in city (kinda like garnolds, but without zombies. maybe the city is flooded or taken over by nature? that wud be cool) *In wilderness but not islands, only land and some rivers and stuff. *In space (You has space station and try to find space debris and oxygen and stuff? idk) *At le south pole (yay igloos! yay ice tunnels! yay polar bears! yay random soviet russia ships with AK-47 in em!)
-Modern war game: *One with tanks and planes and all, and of course building and maybe destructable buildings and terrain. *One without tanks and that, and in city, and more ninja-ish, and an AI soldier for each player to defend em while they cook their food and stuff. *One with a big map with river in center. At winter, people attack the other team, and at other times the river is not possible to cross, so the teams wait for supplies, fix stuff and so on.
-Ye olde war game: *Teams have a castle, get cannons somehow, attack enemy castle. *Teams build their own castles. They get cannons somehow, and attack enemy castle. (maybe they got to gather the resources for the castle and cannons from da nature? The game would be longish tho. Unless they gather, fight, build more/fix, fight and so on.) *Players eat raw flesh and throw stones and sharpened branches at each other until someone wins and can eat the other players. o.e
-Zombie game *One with zombies. -.-

| Ha, "One with zombies -.-". A zombie game that's different would be cool. Like instead of Zombies vs Humans, the zombies would have to fight against each other as well. I made a zombie game awhile ago where you customized the zombies look, and their powers as well. |

I don't think its called that, I think the common names are called: Zombie Attack, Zombie Defence, Surive The Living(XD Fail game).
Doodle Jump is a copyrighted game? Isn't that a really game? Unless I never knew you could copyright it. miloguy already created a game like that anyways, here's my game idea: Genres: Scary Make a game were your in a office at night, your trying to find clues of why you here noises. So you enter to your work place at 8:00 PM, and you find a note on your desk. Yus, you contuine it on. ~ I'm a noob, right? :] |

| I like building games and so do alot of people. Thing is for people to play, it needs to be raelly good. IE travel and build. To make it stand out add something never done before or give full building powers. IE build your own space ship and travel to another system. Some places could even have pre-built buildings. |

Idk what to make -.-
I was thinkin of making the flooded-city-craftin-watever thing, where you has the city wich is flooded and can find stuff and craft stuff and make nice lil base, but it needs a goal. ._. But with craftin games the goal is kind of hard because you dont want the game to end there...

| Maybe a cast away kinda game. Your ship crashes, you land on an island and everyone is on a seperate island until you finish enough stuff to get to another island, like building a boat. But for that you need alot of rope and a lot of wood. It also only allows you to get to that island and back. Then when you meet up with the person on that island, you can work together to get off of that island. When you get off the final island, maybe you go to some freeroam land that has all of the resources and crafting benches/etc. |

| WildSurvival actually has good idea. However, the game should save which island they're on and their skills and their inventory. |

I would like to make a game like settle & survive, but i want it to be a bit more modern...
Maybe ill make it have much mountains with ore, so you can easily get ore and make metal plates and pipes and stuff...
And lets say that you crash there with an airplane, and get random items with you, and the airplane happened to have a car in there so you can load the stuff on it and go awai and maike a base.

Ill have a special ore, wich you were sent to mine to the island by Your holy awesome invincible overlord radioaktiivinen, and you can order shipments with this ore (like weapons, food n stuff)

When you leave you will get sum amount of ore saved so you can order stuff to start up a new base the next time. |

So...
LE game: -1 Island surrounded by water. -Trees n mountains n animals n stuff -Game starts by you coming with a ship to the island from random direction. Ship contains a meh truck with random items on it. Ship will self destruct in 5 mins. -You will have fancy communication-thing wich you can order stuff from your awesome invincible all knowing overlord radioaktiivinen, for something gathered from the island (idk wat yet) -Island will has seasons n weather n stuff -Random stuff will happen (idk, zombie apocalypse, flood, random bombardment by... someone?)
Now... what should you gather from the island...
Maybe something you can grow so you dont really need to do much but have a good amount of land.
What you need to grow should be special and not be abllowed to grow elsewhere in the world, and it must be important, like it must make people around the world addicted to it...
HMMMMM....
Pink trees that emit green smoke and drop blue fruit?

Make the map randomly generate for a server. That makes the replay-ability value of the game a lot higher, as the game is different EVERY time. I personally use MS OneNote to get my ideas organized for a game before I begin. It has different sections within a single notebook that is then divided into 'pages'. I personally think that the most expandable game is one with RPG level systems as you can introduce an infinite number within a survival style game.
Examples of 'skills': woodcutting, firemaking, cooking, fishing, hunting, science (for research purposes? idk), construction, etc.
You could make an excellent survival game from that. Just don't do the "find the recipes out on your own, then post them on the forums everywhere, and then go look at the forums for all the recipes"
That defeats the whole point of the game, when the secrecy is so easily disclosed to EVERYBODY.

No dis is funner:
2 Teams in desert.
Their mission is to pump oil and sell it to radioaktiivinen, their super awesome invincible epic overlord of doom, to buy equipment and resources.
Around the map there will be high production areas wich can have a limited amount of oil pumped out of them.
The teams will fight or will not fight for these areas.
The game will not be entirely focused on fighting, as they also need to build their bases and grow food and stuff to stay alive.
Also there will be 1 pond/lake/watever to get water from, wich the teams will also fight for. Water comes from a pipe leading to the teams areas, but the water from those pipes costs. (you need to pay every x time-unit for some amount of water that will flow from the pipe in some time-unit). The teams will have to fight for the water from the lake/pond because its limited there too and water is really important.
