| You just subtract 4 from 4 and 4 from the 2.. you can't do anything else after that. |

I think this is the answer to the problem
Answer: x > 15 and x < -19
Work to prove that it is correct : I20-17I +4 > 2 7 > 2 true
I-10-17I +4 > 2 28 > 2 true
Is that what you are asking?
P.S. Instead of writing x > 15 and x < -19, you can also write 15 < x < -19
