Realistic, i.e, NO MERCENARY SUPER WAR VETS FROM SPACE WITH BAZOOKAS AND RIFLES, people don't know anything about zombies, there is no genre "zombie" in the universe, guns alert zombies, blood infects, scratches infect, characters ACTUALLY DIE...

Great idea man.... I got one.... how fast you are infected depends on the exposure, for example, a bite, like 5-10 minutes. infected water supply, 1 hour.. something like that? I mean, the smaller the amount of infection in you, the slower it takes to spread. But the longer it progresses. the more it stands out.. that part, I'm not sure how to define it.

I think that's a great idea. Maybe a symptom would be say, necrosis or red splotches on the infected part. Or maybe a high level of hunger. The bite part would be obvious. Do you have any other weapon suggestions?

Actually, I was going for more of a "the walking dead" approach, i.e, infection comes from any scratch or bite from a walker, fever comes soon, then you die, then your brain starts up again, but as a zombieee. Hard to explain, but there's another thing. I was thinking instead of having just lame weapons like that, some will have different weapons depending on their occupation, but it can't be too serious. Also, we will try not to actually get into fights with "zombies," (they will not be called this, because of the lack of information on zombies...) we will try to stay away from them as much as possible, rather than in like l4d, where you run into hoards of zombies knowing that you could get killed.

Howabout we keep the fever part, but forget the dying and waking up again as a zombie. I think they should be killable, but very dangerous. The weapon based on occupations is smart.

@ethandf7
We won't get into that much detail. Of course we'll eat in the thread, but I doubt people in a life or death situation in a zombie apocalypse would eat 3 times a day...

Not consciously waking up as a zombie. It's not like you wake up and are like "oop im a zombob." You have a fever, basically die (brain function mostly ceases, to an undetectable level,) and the infection makes things like blood flow and oxygen need a lot less needed, but also makes the brain an instinctive thing, like an animal.

Of course you wouldn't know you were a zombie, but I still think you wouldn't die. I support the brain shutting down thing, but the infected should still have a mostly normal level of vulnerability, except for pain. Also, I think that long-term infected would start to have the virus disintegrate them, skin first. |

I got an idea... you can like have like a specialty kinda fighting style EX. Say my character is a lumber jack. My Character knows how to swing an axe to maximise the strength but also cut down how much energy you use doing it, and how fast you can swing. Stuff like that.

I actually think zombies should be able to live for a very long time. Think about it. If zombies killed all of the humans on earth, and then ate nothing but animals and eachother for a year, they would all rot. There would be no more zombies. Zombies should last for at least four or five decades.

If a zombie sees you, you could kill it, or it would slowly follow you, collecting hoard as it goes?

Rotting, limping, fifty year old zombies. Of course, they would be terribly worn down, and probably would've decomposed or fallen apart before that.
