A bump is someone bumping the topic to the top of the list, When you post a reply, the topic is shot up to the top of the front page so people can see it. So I basically just bumped this right now.

Some people say it means:
Bringing Up My Post
In other words, much similar to those spoken by rrod197 I may add, it gives your thread a boost to the top of the thread list, so each time someone posts on a thread, that thread gets bumped up to the top of the list, you don't even have to say bump. |
