When you die, how do you know you're dead?
And moreso.. What happens after you pass on..
What do you think happens?
Just something weird to think about. I used to think about this so much when I was little, that I was scared to go to sleep, because I thought I'd never wake up. |

I never bothered thinking of this when I was little. I started when my mind matured. |

| @Evil; No, I mean, what do you think happens after you close your eyes for the last time. It's just weird. |

| I guess. She's 98.. When I go over, she talks about things of the sort, she says she's frightened to sleep each night because it might be her last. It's just.. Odd how death works. |

| @zombie; That's kinda' what I was thinking, I origionally thought it would just be a dark, void-like area in your mind, but if your mind stops working when you pass away, then.. I just don't know. |

@Rez Well there was research done on the human dieing brain
The brain is designed to shut down slowly and with no pain Studies say the brain has a floating sensation just before the heart stops beating

@EpicGamer; I'm not trying to be rude, but think: All religions began by a prophet. Examples: Christianity - Jesus Muslim - Muhammad
But.. What if those prophets never did that, and religions didn't exist? |

Apparently you're still able to think for 5 minutes after death.
What happens after to everyone living, you won't know, except that people that knew you well would be upset. |

@EpicGamer; Yes, but when the brain shuts down, along with the other organs, what would happen.
And that I unaware of, I'm atheist, so.. How did those religions begin though? Its strange thinking that a man named God randomly came into the middle of nowhere, created the universe and the earth, then went to Earth and placed humans and animals there. It's just another thing to think about. 'How did God come into being?' |

I'm also athiest.
And again, I've always wondered how "god" came into earth. He can't have just apppeared.

| Your brain stops functioning, you're a speck in the universe. Like you always have been but always disagreed to. Happy? |

| @Derivale; It seems logical, but how do they have proof of thoughts goin on an extra 5 minutes after your official span? |

I lol'd at your other comments. If you're an atheist you sort of need a real reason(s). You can't just 'not believe in god'. Most people think so but you can just follow on with a friend/family. I have many theories, not many people know. I don't really think it's that normal to tell anyone your opinions of 'religion' though. At the end, someone always gets mad and starts war [lawl]. If you want to think about death as an atheist, go ahead, but it's not nice. Not nice to be as active as a wall - if you'd like to say. |

I don't know Rez, all I know is they found out you're still able to think for 5 minutes.
Possibly had someone die while hooked up in hospital and agreed beforehand for the test to take place? |
