| It used to be more violent though. PLUS there were a lot more interesting strategies when you had to come really close to someone in order to kill them. You don't even have to see someone to kill them now. :C |

| War never got less violent. It's just not covered as much. You won't hear about the Maoist Gurrilas in India, Nepal, Bangladesh- or in Africa, or other parts of the world. |

That's true.
I guess it just doesn't appeal to me. Ancient warfare is what I find really interesting though. |

No, they aren't. The main idea for fascim is that the whole state works as a single organism, playing to everybody's strength. Usually what that would mean is a lot of government spending. Problem is, how do you justify government spending? Through passing it off as national defense, mainly.
Hitster's government was originally only called fascist because of the ways they spent their money. A large majority of citizens were working for the government, as part of a meticulous plan laid out by the people in charge.
PS interesting fact: The Axis' scapegoat in WWII were the Jews. The Allies' scapegoat were the Fascists. If the Axis won the war, would society look at Judaism the way we look at Fascism now?
PPS: Kind of against my argument, but I'll be honest. Much like Communism, Fascism is only ever really practical in wartime. :/ |

Plus, that doesn't mean that fascists are war-mongerers. It just means that they realize that war is gonna happen, and aren't going to back away from it.
Plus, this isn't what this thread is about. This thread is about me finding modern war boring. :P |

Warfare including and since the Spanish Civil War is what I'm talking about. - Pfft. Modern warfare is awesome.
Sure today's warfare is boring, but blame the UN.
And the whole argument that you never see your opponent, I disagree. In Iraq, Korea, Vietnam, WWII and the Spanish Civil War, most of the battles were extremely close and personal with the advent of urban warfare. Wars like the Gulf War and Afghanistan are different however. |

Ancient being pre 1700's.
I thought the Napoleonic wars were interesting.
The only things pre 1700's I am interested in is Greek warfare and Mongol warfare.
