Many people want to know how to EV train and this is going to teach you how. First off, you need your pokemon. It has to have never been in a battle before, unless you ran away, otherwise the EVs will get messed up. It’s best to hatch pokemon from eggs so that they are the right nature (I will explain natures later). Let’s choose the pokemon Turtwig as an example. So now we have our Turtwig, at level 1 with a defense boosting nature. You want it to be Eved in both defenses and in attack. You can only have 252 Evs on a single stat, and only 510 in total. 4 Evs count as 1 stat, so if you had 4 attack Evs you would get +1 in attack. Also, POKEMON DO NOT GET ALL OF THEIR EVS CONVERTED INTO STATS UNTIL THEY REACH LEVEL 100. This is so you can't have a a Pokemon like Turtwig going through the game with 80 speed and 100 attack when it's at level 15. So basically, you need to train your Pokemon to level 100. An item that is almost required for this is Lucky Egg, and rare candies are helpful for levels 95+.
Let’s say we wanted turtwig to have 252 defense, 252 attack and 4 special defense. To get these Evs we need to fight certain pokemon. For attack, you can fight Pokemon like Machop which give 1 attack ev, for defense you could have a Gligar, and for special defense a Tentacool. You might be thinking “So I have to fight 252 machops? That will take ages!”. Well there are certain items that greatly speed up time whilst EV training. First up is pokerus, a disease randomly caught by Pokemon. Pokerus doubles the amount of EVs you get after items, which is very helpful. Next are power items, the power weight, band, belt, lens, bracer and anklet. These give you 4 EVs on top of the ones from the Pokemon, so the power weight would give you 1 ev in HP from fighting a grimer, and then 4 EVs from the weight so you would get 5 EVs. Pokerus doubles this, making it 10 evs. Therefore you only really need to fight a maximum of 26 Pokemon. So we have EV trained our Turtwig in 252 Atk, 252 defense and 4 Sp. defense. But that’s only 508 EVs, not 510. The reason you only get 508 EVs is because 510 doesn’t divide into 4.
If you want to find out where is best to EV train for each stat, look on the bottom of the Serebii (Website) EV training guide for the game you're playing. |

Hey is this a smart strategy?
Use a move that can trap a pokemon and keep it from escaping, send it to sleep, use perish song and switch out when both of your perish song counts are down to 1, switch out so the pokemon that used perish song is still alive.
Tell me if thats smart or not. |

| Yeah it's good for elimination of a Pokemon with stat boosts, walls, or just a huge threat. Use a fast Pokemon for sure if you wanna do that. |

| It's decent. Many others are better. Something simple as Scizor + Technician + Bullet punch could be better. Technician boosts it's power from 40 to 60, and STAB boosts it from 60 to 90. Plus, it's a priority move, so it's guaranteed for first turn. |

@blend It's been thought of, but not used because it's outclassed. Moves like sleep talk and Chesto Berries are everywhere. Plus you have to switch out. Only good usage is a Smeargle with Spore, Mean look, Perish song, and Dream Eater. |

lol new users
Rest + Cheseto is great, but it's even better with the Harvest Ability. It lets you use a berry an infinite ammount of times, so you can rest, wake up and wont have to worry about the berry being gone. |

You've been playing pokemon for a long time and you never heard of eevee before?
Lol just joking.
An EV is what you get after you defeat a pokemon. You can recieve EV's even if you don't ev train, but its recommed to ev train because you can get EV's quicker.
There are 6 different types of EV's. I will tell you how to get each type of EV.
HP=Battle pokemon with good HP. Attack=Battle pokemon with good attack Defense-Battle pokemon with good defense Special Attack=Battle pokemon with good special attack Special Defense=Battle pokemon with good special defense Speed=Battle pokemon with good speed
And yeah,I hate people that think pokemon games are childish even though only the anime is. To be honest, pokemon games are more mature than Mario games Or Sonic games.
Pokemon Games=Breeding,defeating wild pokemon,battling trainers,stopping villionaus teams,training pokemon,catching pokemon,completing your pokedex,beat all gym leaders,dominate on wi-fi and beat the elite four champion.
Mario Games=Smash your head on bricks and jump on top of mushrooms and turtles.
Sonic Games=Play with annoying animals that sound like children and collect rings for the sole purpose of defeating an obese guy with no friends. Sounds like some one you can meet at Mcdonalds if you ask me! |
