| There is no such thing as Christian metal. It's usually just metalcore bands with Christian lyrics. If music genres were based off of lyrics, than Pantera would be Tough guy metal. |

| @Widow, you are stupid, you just proved my point. Genres aren't named after lyrics types, because than Pantera would be tough guy metal, Slipknot would be OMGLIFEISSOHARD metal. |

@Slip
there's Viking Metal
so why can't there be Christian Metal?
And Theocracy is a great example of Christian Power Metal. (Notice it's not Metalcore)

| Viking metal isn't real, it's usually just folk metal or death metal with viking lyrics. And I didn't say that every christian metal band is metalcore. Stryper isn't metalcore, and they are considered "Christian metal". If there was a Christian metal, then there would be a satanic metal, a jewish metal, war metal, peace metal, apple metal, etc. It just gets into a huge bunch. |

Christian Metal is a loose musical term, applicable to all metal genres with an influence of Christianity. So all in all, technically it's not a main genre, but it is still one nonetheless. And Satanic Metal is basically just Black Metal. Jewish Metal would exist if there were enough bands with Jewish influence. and war, peace and apple don't even make sense. A band's songs would basically all have to be about war, or peace, or bloody apples for it to be a genre. Christian bands don't just make one song about Christianity, they make pretty much all their songs about it, or cite it as influence.
the more you know

No, black metal has a distinct sound, Christian metal doesn't, and there are bands with Satanic themes that aren't black metal.

A lot of power metal bands sing about war and peace. And what about John Lennon, wouldn't he be peace rock? |

"No, black metal has a distinct sound, Christian metal doesn't, and there are bands with Satanic themes that aren't black metal."
I was joking. But nevertheless, Satanism is looked down upon in modern day society. There is nothing I can do about that, but people wouldn't acknowledge a Satanic Metal genre.
"A lot of power metal bands sing about war and peace. And what about John Lennon, wouldn't he be peace rock? "
Basically, only Religion counts to people. Huh.

And in comes you two, pushing your views on each other. Think what you want, neither of you are technically wrong..
I for one think Christian Metal is the most laughable thing...aside from Theocracy and Flyleaf. And Flyleaf is more hard rock. |

Uh, no. Go listen to "The Tide Began to Rise" by Demon Hunter. No screamo, no metal, just a good, clean, REAL song. |
