A lot of people ask me how to get a good group. It's a lot easier if you start out on the right track. Making a group active and loyal once it's been inactive and disloyal is very difficult, though not impossible.
So, here's a few tips many people don't follow to get you on the right track. I might expound on this if I ever get the time or desire.
1. Only have one group.
I know some people who have three young groups they're trying to start up. Even if you're 100% dedicated to making all three succeed, each group will only get 33% of your effort and time. And a clan that gets 33% is not going to thrive at all, much less like one that gets 100%. Leading a clan well takes a LOT of effort and time.
2. Prioritize it.
Some people are high ranks in eight clans, forum during most of their free time, chat and/or play games with friends, and then maybe hold a training once every three days in their own clan. Or they leave it to their high ranks. If you actually want a clan to succeed, you've got to commit to it. I've never been an active high rank in a clan while I own a clan. I was a UCR Promoter for a while, but I simply couldn't be if I wanted my clan to thrive. Although getting experience as a high rank is vital, don't do them at the same time, unless you have about five hours on the computer each day (which I never did...). Your clan always comes first.
3. Get experience.
As stated in number two, you really need to have a good amount of experience in being a high rank before you start a clan. You might think this point is contradictory to number two. But no. Get it BEFORE you start a clan. You need to know the requirements of being a high rank, how to deal with various arguments among members, have the insight and judgment to know who deserves a demotion/promotion/exile, how to deal with an admin attack, how to train, how to raid, how to defend, and so many things.
4. Have a good reputation.
A lot of clan leaders ruin their reputation by not caring about their clan, flaming on the forums, abusing admin, and running a clan only to get fame and wealth. People don't want to join a clan whose leader has a bad reputation. And, if they do, soon enough they'll leave. Not only does your reputation really matter, but your real actions and reactions. Many clan leaders are strict, upset, and don't care about their members. If you go the extra mile and listen to your members, believe me, it will really help you in the long run. That's how you become a beloved leader. And, if you honestly don't have time to read your members' messages or listen to them in-game, be honest. Refer them to various high ranks, but apologetically. Real concern and care for your members, the people who actually make up your whole clan, matters so much.
5. Be in the know.
Ah, how hard it is to know if your high ranks are loyal. High rank troubles are really one of the most difficult things you'll have to deal with as a clan leader. At least some of them will be inactive, immature, untrustworthy, abuse admin, or really anything. The list of their fallacies is endless. So what do you do? First, be a strict promoter. Make sure you know them at least somewhat well before you promote them. Secondly, be honest with them. Tell them that if they don't shape up, they will be demoted. Thirdly, be friends with them. Camaraderie in the leaders of the clan is important. The closer you tie your bond, the less they'll be eager to break it. Fourthly, "check up" on them. Go on a random alt and follow them into a game. Beg for a promotion. Blame them. See how they react. Believe me, it works.
6. Present your clan well.
This one is difficult. As an artist myself, I love to make my clan's logo, uniform, ads and bases. But some leaders don't. I understand that. However, these things really do matter. Even if you are active and loyal and a great clan, people won't want to join a clan with a bad logo and name as much as one with a good or decent one. So, if you have no money, and can't do them yourself, how what can you do? Well, you've got to be creative. If you're good at scripting or making any kind of models, ask a uniform/logo/base maker to make a trade. Or, maybe be a high rank in their clan to help out for awhile, or anything. A lot of times this challenge seems impossible, but there are ways to do it, and there are kind artists out there.
7. Have a good name.
Piggybacking along with number six, having a good name is vital. Acronyms are fine, as long as they're not forced into making a certain word work. For example, if you think the name "SHOOT" would be cool for your clan, but you make your clan's name be "Strong Heroes Of Operative Troops," it may be better to do something else. For example, a lot of clans now have names with "Legion", "Squad", "Army", or any other word at the end, and an adjective like "Strong" in front of it. The name Rebel Army might be better than "Strong Heroes of Operative Troops." Depends on your own inclination, though.
8. Sacrifice.
Owning a clan isn't that big a deal, right? Tons of people have them. Yeah, that's true. But tons of people fail with them. If you want a clan to actually thrive, you've got to sacrifice. I hardly ever play games, just for the fun of it. Really. Most of the time I'm building for my clan, holding trainings, reading messages, making/running ads, etc. There's endless work. Make sure you're prepared.

This helps, thanks. Just made new clan, But it's really selective. And no cadet program. You still actively make uniforms? I was thinking to buy one... |

@Bomb, were you that guy I met at Blox City Brick Battle two summers ago and you were saying you're an alt of lots of famous people? :O That's right before our internet got fried.
@Ninja, yeah, I gave boygrump and DigitalSkill my templates to sell. I don't really know of anybody else, though... |
