I slow down when I reach the outskirts of Rovan, the nearby village. Something about those red, gleaming eyes under his coat crawled under my skin. I shiver, although it has nothing to do with the cold.
The harsh smell of burning wood wafts through my nose. I hear a crackle of flames, then my head whips to the wall barricading the village. Flames dance across the straw rooftops. I gasp as it spreads, lighting the village on fire. I sigh. "Why do I always have to do all the work?" I mutter.
I spit on my shirt a little bit, cover it over my mouth and nose, and run in to the flames. |

I heaved down the lever as the wooden grate made way. My party made it cross, although we were far from the outskirts of the village. We only escaped the main district. I looked down the street and saw a advancing horde of orcs. "We'll have to fight this one." I heard someone say. I looked behind and nodded. I took out my sharp, piercing throwing knife and aimed it. I threw it, hard into one of the armored orcs. It cut his armor down completely and he fell me. Then I drew my ornate dagger and charged. "FOR ROVAN!" I shouted. I knew this was going to be hard. It was about 5 assassins versus 30 orcs. |

I run in to a flaming shack. A child screams somewhere within it. Dodging red-hot pieces of wreckage, I clamber through the house. A blonde haired, blue eyed little boy calls for his mommy. I swiftly grab him up and sprint out of there, just before the house collapses on itself. Tears squeeze out of his eyes, and I am desperate. I run out and set him down on the grass, safe from harm, promising to come back to him later. I go back inside, and have to catch my breath as I see an army of orcs stomping through. A group of rebels, it looked like, were fighting them. I join them, fighting as hard as I can, wheezing from the smoke that blackens my lungs. |

Suddenly, another fighter emerged out of the unknown. She seemed to be assisting us. I stared at her for a moment but then ducked down after a orc tried to decapitate me. I quickly retaliated with my dagger into his eye. I looked behind and saw none of my friends were struggling. So I continued to spearhead the group of orcs. I managed to jump and land on one, stabbing it in the neck. There, I backflipped from a attempted chop-me-in-half. |

(Oh gawsh, I missed a lot.)
-Akris- We continued riding north, advancing towards the Boer Mountains. The sun had begun to dip behind the looming mountains ahead. To our right was the borders of the Genton Forest. The horse pulled to a stop as Farra tugged roughly on the reins. In front of us stood four figures- A panther, a boy, a boy a bit younger than the other that looked very similar to him, and a cloaked figure with ravens sitting atop his head and shoulders. I redirected my attention to the branches hanging over us. More ravens. |

| I charged at the orc, running up his axe, now bolted to the ground. I jumped on him, slashing his face furiously. I now looked behind as the rest were behind. I unloaded my crossbow and aimed carefully at the biggest one. "3.. 2.. 1!" I shouted and I fired. the arrow pierced the orc's helmet, and he simply fell with a large crash. I reloaded and aimed again. I shot another. I reloaded my cross and sheathed it. I picked up my armor piercing throwing dagger and attach it my belt. I take out my ornate dagger again and attack from behind. |

I looked at the cloaked figure, my eyebrows raising with a questioning look. I had always liked ravens. Beautiful creatures, it was sad that they were so easily mistaken for crows. I shuddered, grimacing at the thought. Crows. How I hated even the sound of their name. Awful birds. They made the most grotesque callings deep within their high-strung, mistuned throats. A wretched noise, really. The raven, was much more eerie and tend to be a bit more silent than a crow. As if it prided itself upon being a raven. I peered at the ravens sitting atop the figure's shoulders with intrest. A mysterious looking fellow, none the less, and this hooded figure peaked my intrest, not even noticing the others in the area. |

(Hullo. I'm covering for devirox2, since she got banned. She is directing me her posts through her alt acc.)
~~Luna~~ My bow is out now, and I'm rapidly firing, going for the head. Some are clumsy, but several lodge in, and they fall. As they approach, I abandon my dagger and unsheath my katana, which has been eagerly waiting on my back. Spinning around, I stab one through the chest. It gasps and collapses. I do a back handspring over a sword aimed for me and roundhouse kick it's head, fazing it and drawing blood. I lock eyes with one of the assasins. "You've got some skills, too," I compliment, then focus back on battle. |

"Thank you." I said. I was pretty sure now she was on our side. Soon there was one left, a heavily armored brute. I was sure I missed him when firing my crossbow. It would take more than weapons to defeat him. He was drenched under the most layers of armor you can possibly think of (Not really xD), and worse, he was carrying a large morning star. He took a hit on one of my friends, he flew back, his skin gashed with severe cuts. One of my friends attempted to help him, now I turned to face the brute. |

-Toslar-
I gaped at the man on the horse. "Farra?!" I choked. Farra's ears turned bright red. "Ah, Toslar! What a plea- What a surprise!" He unmounted his horse, carefully slipping a jar inside his pocket. I didn't catch what was inside, but I decided not to ask. Galiron had mentioned that snooping was disrespectful, and a true sorcerer never showed disrespect.
(If you hadn't seen it already, Galiron is basically another 'Atticus'. :P I'm not talking about the panther, I'm talking about the Atticus from the book 'To Kill a Mockingbird'. They both show others courtesy, and teach their kids/apprentices respect. :3
By the way, I feel the need to say this... Lolololol, I befriended Arjang on Yootoob. Y'know... Arjang who was on that Disney dance competition? xP I'm not kidding, he's only 12, and he's pretty good ._.) |

I bounced back on my toes as we were slipped back into his pocket. What was going on out there? "Hey?" I called up to Farra, shouting loudly, trying to be heard by him from within his pocket. I tapped on the glass with my fingernails, a satisfying 'clink' noise echoing through the jar.

(Hello ^^)
{Rain}
I mindlessly kick my feet back and forth for a few minutes, biting on the inside of my cheek. A faint scream snaps me back from space.
"Hey, Grandpa... Uh, shouldn't we go help the other villagers?" I say, spotting flickers of fire through the small, grimy window in the study.
Grandpa shakes his head and sighs. "Don't you think I would be doing that if I could?" he replies slowly, flipping a page in his book. I raise my eyebrows in confusion, and he continues to speak.
"Rain, didn't you notice?" Grandpa points out the window, "Those are magical flames- fire chanted from a sorcerer's spell. It's blue! Didn't you see that?"
"Um... Yea, sure, 'course I did," I mumble. Grandpa tsks and chuckles.
"You're an apprentice, and you don't even know THAT," he scolds. I continue to stare at the fire. Now that he mentioned it, the fire DOES have a blue hue, and it's not going out at easily as a regular fire. It seems as if it's eating everything thrown at it.
"So we can't do anything?"
"Not unless someone knows how to reverse the spell, or knows a counter spell. We've all been trying to stop it, but that spell must be some secret or ancient one, because there's nothing in these books that say anything that can help about these flames." He lifts up his book and I read the title. "The Master Book of Counter Spells".
I sit still for a moment longer, processing our conversation. If that fire is from a sorcerer's spell, then who chanted it? It most likely wasn't one of Aislia's sorcerers, and our city isn't in any serious rivalry with anyone except...
I frown and furrow my eyebrows in fury. The Terriscias. |

"Stun it!" I heard one of my companions yell. I looked behind and then ran towards the great brute, dodging it's attacks. I leaped forward, and kicked it in the stomach. It pushed the brute back, but nothing seemed to be done. |

I rush back to aid the wounded soldier, falling in line with them. I couldn't miss a good battle, and I had been looking for trouble lately. Plus I could help them, too. But I had to admit, the adrenaline coursing through my veins right now makes me feel vibrant. I take out a bandage from within my coat pocket and start wrapping it around the major wound on his arm. These bandages weren't cheap, and I would have to take another dreaded trip in to town to stock up, but it was definitely helping the assasin.

I smiled at seeing the vigilante assisting one of my friends. One of my friends raised a spellbook. Then I remembered he was a trained basic mage.
"Perxus Auelis... PERXUS AUELIS!" He bellowed. A soft light emerged from the book, and drifted into the armor. The orc was too slow under the armor to escape. Soon, the armor crunched up. It looked frail. "Break it, now! The spell breaks soon!" I gave my thumbs up to my ally and attacked it with my other assassin. I kicked it again, this time the Orc fell on it's back. It kicked me in the stomach, and I flew back. But I got up in delight to see my friend has managed to get his dagger through the Orc's brain. He turned around and smiled at me. I smiled back. |

I grind my teeth together. "I swear, I'm gonna beat the heck out of every Terriscia from now on," I growl.
"Eh?" Grandpa glances up.
"Nothing, Grandpa," I say innocently, grinning. I stand up and step out of the study room. "I"m going back out now. I want to see how everyone's doing."
"Hm, alright. You could go make yourself useful and help other people. But make sure yo stay away from that fire. Once it starts, it won't stop until the spell wears out," he warns me, flipping another page.
"Don't worry, don't worry~" I laugh and jog out of the house, and I hear Grandpa's voice.
"Oh, I wish I don't have to." I scowl at that and make my way to the center of the city, using my bandana to cover my mouth. |

(Heh, heh... So, basically, I could be considered famous in some odd, demented way... ;) Save your requests for my autographs later, ladies- Ok, no, kiddingggg....)
-Toslar- "Farra, where are you headed?" Farra fidgeted uneasily. "Oh, I'm just traveling... I tend to do that oftenly," He chuckled nervously, but, when he realized nobody else was, he stopped. "And where might you be headed? I'm sure Galiron-" "-Is missing," I finished. "He's missing. Hey, what was that that you put in your pocket a few moments ago?" I set aside the thought of Galiron scolding me, and creased my eyebrows. Curiosity overcame me. Farra put a hand on his pocket. "Nothing," He said quickly. He realized his mistake, and his ears grew even more red than before. "I mean, it's nothing of any importance. Just another ingredient for a potion..." |

I could hardly hear the conversation going on outside the jar. I stood on tiptoes, as if this would help me hear what was going on. I pressed my ear reluctantly against the glass, blinking back tears from the bone-chilling cold glass on my once warm cheek. I bit my lower lip, holding my breath as I listened. |

{Rain}
As I draw closer to the center, I hear the soft notes of a flute. =.= "Who would be playing that at this time?" I think to myself, irritated. I find a thin ring of a crowd at the village fountain, which marks the center of Aislia. I squirm through, elbowing and kneeing a path for myself and receiving a few scowls and jeers in return.
I find the flutist I saw a few days ago sitting cross-legged on the fountain, nonchalantly blowing into his flute. White, misty notes appear in the air and douse traces of fire on the fountain. I stare in awe, and when the man finishes his song, the villagers all join in a plaudits for him.
The man smiles warmly, stands up, and continues to play, walking down the road. The notes cascade from the instrument and extinguish the sorcerer's fire. |

-Akris- "Let us out of here!" I roared. I was growing impatient at this point. Any calmness I had felt earlier had drained. I was now anxious to see who had come, and what was going on.
-Toslar- The cloaked figure swept a hand through the air. Two ravens dove from their branches that they were perched on and fled straight towards Farra. Farra, who was convinced they were going to harm him, covered his face. But, instead, the ravens dug into the pocket and brought out the jar, consisting of two fairies. I gaped at the jar. I had never known fairies existed! The ravens brought the jar to the cloaked figure, who twisted the cap off and plucked the fairies out with his long, keen fingernails. He then set them on the palm of his other hand and removed his hood. He had the head of a falcon. His long, orange-yellow beak confounded me- How did he hide that under his hood? His deep violet eyes were the same as they were when I first noticed them, although they hinted relief; I assumed the man was relieved to have revealed himself, and gotten it over with. His feathers were black like the ravens'. I then noticed his human hands shimmer. They transformed into raven claws, and his feet into talons. "V-Veqris?" Farra stammered. The cloaked raven nodded. "Who?" I scratched my head, perplexed. "Verqis, the legendary god of the ravens," Atticus mused. "He had been banished from the Overseer Isles thousands of years ago." Verqis nodded. "They accused me of thievery, although it had been the Shadowed Five who were framing me. The Overseers believed I was 'ambitious' and 'decieving' since I am the god of ravens, for most believe ravens are demonic beings. Truthfully, they are the most obedient, well-behaved, patient, and overall quiet creatures I had ever come across." The ravens ruffled their feathers in embarrassment. |

My eyes sparked with a gleam of intrest as I stared up at Veqris, clearly astonished. "Thank you sir." I say, regarding to him freeing Akris and I from the jar. Naturally, I would shake his hand. But seeing that I was resting on his claws, there was little room to have my normal form of manners. Instead, I slowly pushed myself to my feet steadily. I bow in respect, my hair falling into my eyes as I do so. "It's an honor to be in your presence." I remain in this low bow for a few more moments before straightening back up, looking up at him in awe. |

I followed Lily's example, nearly slipping off Veqris' palm, but he caught me with his claw, and chuckled. "You are welcome, child. I am delighted to meet such courteous fairies." He then casted a glance at Farra. "This is no way to treat these harmless creatures. I am ashamed that you would capture harmless creatures, hold them against their will, and plot to overthrow the gods. I am upset that I was banished from the isles, but they are still my brethren, and I cannot bare to watch them suffer. However, I will let you off the hook, for you cannot advance towards your goal without these fairies. Now, go." Farra uneasily mounted his horse and sped away, never risking a glance backward. I smiled in pleasure. "Thank you, Veqris. You have been very kind to us." I said. "Now, now. I am not the one to thank. If it hadn't been for Toslar, I would have never come to his aid, and never met you two." The oldest of the two boys - Which I assumed was Toslar - blushed. "Now, my ravens will give you a safe ride home." Two ravens swooped down towards Veqris' claw and allowed Lily and I to climb aboard their backs. I got on one warily, spreading my arms and legs out widely. |
