Vaktovia stole their colors.

That is also why the war was so long.

Black isnt a color.

A black object absorbs all the colors of the visible spectrum and reflects none of them to the eyes.

@solo

And an object of green/red/purple/whatever you want, do so partially. Doesn't mean black is not a color.

White is all the colors together, and black is a shade.

@ Dekord.

They reflect color while black does not.

Black is not a color.

They reflect light*, yes. But I can just as easily say that absorbing light is the definition instead, no?

It's a color.

"But black and white aren't colors."
To clarify:
On the light scale, black is not considered a colour (for reasons soloman has already explained), and white is the combination of all the colours on the visible light scale.

However, when you use the pigment scale of colour, white is no longer a colour and black is all the colours.

A better phrase would be "Black /or/ white isn't a colour", as depending on which scale you use, one of them always will be a colour.

@Dekord,

Sorry, but you can't make up definitions for words on the spot.

@Squid

I wasn't making up a definition, I was hypothetically changing it for you to see the argument from a different perspective.

If there is an accepted standard I am unaware of..?

@ Darth.

Flame moar.

And no.

If I meant white I would have said white.

White reflects all colors.

Black reflects none.

White == color

Black =/= color

"say...definition instead"

Ya.

And again: Why is reflecting light the definition for colour, rather than absorbing it?

Dekord's definition is valid.
As I explained, in the case of Dekord's version, White is no longer a colour. It is just based off of absorbing or emitting.
