In the near future, Earth's resources are nearly diminished. As a result, a global war breaks out, leaving the planet in devastation, and only a few countries stand undefeated.
Eventually, the US stands out victorious, due to it forming alliances with bordering countries, then conquering them. In the following months, the US establishes a corporate dictatorship, leaving millions of civilians in poverty and hunger. After several years, an unnamed rebellion rises up in political and military power. 32 years after the global war, the rebellion overthrows the US government after a short-lived war between rebels and mercenaries, and loyalist PMCs. Now controlling a powerful empire, the rebels have to rebuild...
Using the last of the earth's resourced, along with scrap from military hardware, thousands of space shuttles are built and launched. But where, exactly? Seven years before the Rebel-Loyalist war, the US government had found a planet -slightly smaller than Earth- , chock-full of resources, many of which are found of Earth. The rebels had captured this intelligence and kept it for safe-keeping. Now taking advantage of this, the new government migrated most of the shuttles (the ones that didn't make it either ran out of fuel or crashed into stray asteroids) to that planet.
Now on the planet, the Earthlings found the climate frigid, yet many plants were sprouting out of the ground and thriving. These plants had adapted and/or evolved to survive in this environment. There was no precipitation, though. There was a large amount of oxygen in the atmosphere, but no snow, rain, or sleet... (A short explanation: The reason precipitation does not happen on Frostaria is because there is no water cycle. The freezing cold environment leaves the water frozen and unmoving, therefore, it cannot travel across the planet and make a water cycle.)
Casualties were large, but after 9 long years of rebuilding, the planet, now named Frostaria for its frigid, yet thriving climate, had established a oligarchy. Cities and towns were now spread across the globe, along with countries, territories, and districts. The new reservoir of natural resources had filled the planet with raw materials, metals, and minerals never found on Earth, and some native to Earth as well. Soon, a military was built and perfected. New technology and strategies made the military strong and proud.
Five and a half years after the perfection of Frostaria, a somewhat nearby planet had posed a threat. They called themselves the Vaktovians, a race of imperial humanoids who focus solely on their military, not their people. The Vaktovians were expanding their empire to gain more resources, and Frostaria was one of their main targets. Since Frostaria had been inhabited for almost 15 years, the Vaktovians had no choice but to attempt to exterminate the Frostarian people and take the planet for themselves, and it's resources. However, they weren't going to take the planet without a fight. Grand Admiral Jacob Sparrow declared war on the Vaktovian empire and vowed to restore order to the planets and galaxies that the Vaktovians had seized. The war was on.
8 years had passed. The Frostarian oligarchy had remained undefeated, and neither had the Vaktovian autocracy. Casualties were immense on both sides. Frostarian hardware and Vaktovian hardware never surpassed another in performance and reliability. The war never seemed to end...
5 months later, Grand Admiral Sparrow and Vaktovian Autarch Vaktus both signed a treaty. The two leaders realized that both militaries were equally matched. Continuing the war would've left both sides weak and dying. So-called peace was established between Frostaria and Vaktovia. Distrust still lingers between both sides. Vaktovian grunts, still unaware of the war's end, still attack Frostaria on a regular basis; Vaktovian leaders neglect fixing this problem. Frostarian soldiers are given the task of leaving the Vaktovians alone, yet keeping them out of major bases. Stress is building between both sides, but no war will break out; the cost is too high.
Frostaria still manages to thrive in political influence and manufacturing of products. The economy remains strong, and the government remains without corruption. Gunships still patrol the planets atmosphere, scanning the deep vacuum of space for any attackers... Maybe even Vaktovians again... No one will know... |
