If you have read my previous threads on this, people keep claiming to have found "Loopholes" or "ways around", yet only saying that there is one, not taking the extra 60 seconds to post what they are.
Basically, all this is is a spam filter that will (hopefully) be better than the current one. What the current spam filter does, is search posts for known curse words, and the ROBLOX staff has to constantly update the spam filter to stop new proxies, but ways are quickly found around even that.
This is why I am suggesting a spam filter that searches for patterns in a comment, so if someone posts
"Copy and paste this on 10 different hats, then press F5 and you get all those hats"
and then another person comes along and posts that comment 10 times on 10 different hats, then it starts a chain reaction, because some players will look at these and say, "oo I really want *insert 10 hat names here*, I'll try it out!" and then other players see it, and do the same, which causes the spam to spread and spread and spread, but the key thing about this is that all these comments have been copied and pasted, meaning that they are exactly the same, so when 10 different IP adresses all post the same thing, then all those posts get deleted, sucessfully shutting down the spam. Now, you may be thinking "But what if someone posts a comment such as 'This place is bad' and other people post the same thing 10 more times? Ok, right now, look at a game you know has been flamed and flamed, then look at the comments, they all say somewhat the same thing, but they are worded completely differently, such as:
"THIS GAME SUCKS 0/10!!!!!" "NOOBISH GAME!" "N00BBZZZZZZ" "I GET SPAWNKILLED TOO MUCH!" "LAG!" "FREE MODELZ!" "CREATOR IS A NOOB" "CREATOR ABUSES ADMIN!!!!"
They all say that the place absolutely sucks and that no one should play it, but they are saying it in their own original way.
Now back to another problem, people stated that people could easily get around THIS filter by changing a letter or a couple of letters, this is why the spam filter not only searches for things that are exactly the same, but also searches for patterns, so if someone posts:
"C0py and paste this to 10 hats, then press F5 and you get those 5 hats!!!! DON'T FORGET TO CHANGE ONE LETTER WHEN COPY AND PASTING THIS COMMENT!!!!"
after someone else posts:
"Copy and paste this to 10 hats, then press F5 and you get those 5 hats!!!! DON'T FORGET TO CHANGE ONE LETTER WHEN COPY AND PASTING THIS COMMENT!!!!"
You see that there is a slight difference, theh "O" in copy in the first example is a 0, but if you look again, EVERY SINGLE OTHER LETTER IN THAT COMMENT IS EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE OTHER ONE; EXCEPT FOR THE 0. The spam filter sees this, waits until 10 IP adresses post the same thing, but with slight differences in all of them (possibly) then deletes all of them, filing it as spam.
Also, for all of you who think that Telamon's 1 ticket a comment idea is good enough, it isn't, since he is also suggesting that the non-builders club daily ticket income be bumped up to 20 tickets, which counteracts the ENTIRE purpose of the 1 ticket a comment, seeing as people could just, create an account, spam 20 comments, create another account, then spam 20 comments, etc.
This way, the current spam is deleted and the new spam will be prevented :) Support? Cool. Don't support? Why?
P.S IF YOU SEE LOOPHOLES POST THEM!!!!!!!!!!

| This method has been suggested several times already—I don't think the devs really care about spam. |

| Well, when I see spam, I just get other people to report it and the spammer gets banned. Sadly, the spammer has taken up 100 pages of comments and ruined any discussion on the group wall. |

| Anyway, support. This should happen on the group wall too. They should add a, "No duplicate posts" thing on the group wall, like on the forums. That way, when the spammer refreshes to make his message post again, it will say, "No duplicate posts. You have attempted to make a post with the same body as your previous post. This rule has been made to cut down spam." And that's that. The spammer is gone, and his message is lost in the archive. |

Seems legit.
By that, I mean if more than ten people say "Great game!" or "I love your work." then eventually not only will the 10+ people saying "Great game!" or "I love your work." will not only get banned for complimenting a game, but it'll also keep anyone else from saying "Great game!" or "I love your work."
No. |

I could just change one character from each word (or more), and they won't find me.
I could find more holes on this filter, such as rewording the comment as a whole.
Apart from that, think of the (unwanted bans) people can receive? I mean, there are like thousands of comments made every minute, there ought to be one that nearly has the same wording as yours.
I don't know, they'd probably complain about the mods again. |

Where did all the talk of people getting banned for it come from? or people not being able to post that comment again?
Though both of you bring up good points, I'll try to think of a way around this. |
