British people are actually NOTHING like they are portraid on American TV. For one, only a very, very small amount of us are posh. Same as in America; some people are posh, some aren't. Secondly, there is a huge steryotype about us having bad teeth. To be honest, I dont have a clue where this came from, because I looked it up and as a nation England actually has the cleanest teeth in the world (not being biased, it was on a fact site). The reason people think we're posh is because shows in America that have British people in alwyas have posh Brits because they only pick the ones with the posh voice, as it backs up the steryotype I guess... If you heard how different people from my city sounded, you'd be shocked. Having said all of this, if you go to CERTAIN parts of London, it will look exactly like it does on TV because they play on the steryotype as it's more fun for the tourists. And lastly, we're nowhere near buzzkills. I'm not sure if you've ever heard any English comedians, but I've cried with laughter over some of their jokes. People like Michael MacIntyre, Russle Brand, Russle Howard, and sooooo many others. If you live in the UK, watch shows like Mock the Week and stuff like that. They get the best comedians.
Well, I'm proberly gonna get a bunch of racist steryotypical posts on this, but I dont care. I've cleared this up for those willing to listen :P
Also, there's proberly a whole bunch of spelling mistakes. I typed this really fast :D |
