Well, hello, kiddies, I'm back from the shop, and unfortunately, I only bought three titles, but hopefully, I want to get the rest and review them some time. Here we go:
--SUPERMAN #1 by George Perez and Jesus Merino--
This was a good story showing how Superman is during current times, contrasting Morisson's Action Comics, which showed some sort of "Superman Year One, Golden Age Edition". I mean, what kind of irked me was how they were going to demolish the old Daily Planet and build a taller and more 'modern' one. Shouldn't the Planet be some sort of historical or legacy type of thing. Talking about the story, it shows how good of a writer George Perez is, since I mostly associate him with being an artist. But during the issue, I liked how he used old school narration captions, which I then associate with Alan Moore's Miracleman (which in my humble opinion, is the best superhero comic book run in the entire history of man kind) but this was a cool comic. Now, the art. The art is pretty cool, especially how in some scenes you can see Merino did not get lazy, like when the fire monster was attacking buildings and such. He did a great job on this ish. Well, adding something to this review, I like how this is mostly 'done in one' compared to the other comics from the New 52 line that are mostly first parts of some sort of story arc. I think this will be benefitial to new readers, and I hope Perez keeps on doing this kind of writing where every story is bound to one issue, short and sweet.
I give this book a 9/10
--THE FLASH #1 by Francis Manapul and Brian Buccellato--
I remember seeing Manapul's art in an issue preview of those 'Road to Flashpoint' Flash issues by Geoff Johns, and I thought to myself that this was very good. There was something whimsical and great about it. The art in this one, in my opinion, is the best out of all the New 52, it's great. But, unfortunately, the story is kind of bland. I mean, Barry Allen finding out his friend died in some sort of attack Allen (as the Flash, obviously) was fighting off, and then discovering he was cloned, not once, but various times, is kind of bumming me. But the art is fantastabulousasticalicous, and I liked how Manapul made the seam lines on the Flash's costume look like lighting bolts and have them light up and send off electricity when Allen is running. It was good.
I give this book a 7.5/10
--AQUAMAN #1 by Geoff Johns, Ivan Reis, and Joe Prado--
Well, when you think of Aquaman what comes to mind? His ability to speak to fish and swim? Well, Johns adresses all this mockery that comes to Aquaman in this clever issue with the brilliant art of Ivan Reis. Throughout this issue, we see how Aquaman feels toward people mocking him and being a laughingstock. Well, in the beginning we see these strange creatures rise to the surface. So, we see how Aquaman is mocked by criminals, only to be aprehended by Aquaman, stern and serious. But then he goes to a restaurant for lunch, and is asked questions and whatnot. Johns adds clever things, like how Aquaman answers questions, like how he doesn't really 'talk' to fish. And what really hurts Aquaman is how some guy tells him "How does it feel like to be a laughingstock? How does it feel like to be nobody's favorite superhero?" And that hurts Aquaman and angers him. Very great issue, it's just a tad bit too short and decompressed if you ask me.
I'll give it an 8.5/10
Well, here's how my review line ends with a fizzle. Now, if you guys want me to review other comics, including Marvel comics and others, that I buy per week, let me know in this thread. |

| I really loved Aquaman. Although, it's a bit of a shame that Geoff Johns isn't doing The Flash, but than again, he has three comics to work on now. |

| You guys think I should review other comics I get by the week. I'll probably pick up the rest of the Week 4 books I missed and even the #2 issues. Heck, I'll buy Marvel books, too, if I'm lucky. |

Yeah, Green Lantern sold out at mine. They have Action, 'Tec, and Green Lantern #1 up for display. Due to my nearsightedness, I couldn't get a glimpse at the price.
Fortunately for me, I already have 'Tec and Action. I'll buy the second printing of GL. |

| Has anyone heard of Thou Shalt Game? It's a pretty mediocre comics store, which was where I got Nightwing. |

I'm lucky. I have two comic shops in my area, one of which is closer and has been in the business for 30 something years.
They are nice and cool people. Even have old Marvel comics up for display ("Incredible Hulk #1, Amazing Spiderman #33, Captain America #100, Fantastic Four #1") |

I like the classic MARVEL and DC
Disagree with me if you will but the latest MARVEL and DC comic's protray both Hero's and Villan's as Overpowered Immortal's who alway's find a way to return from the dead. they're impossible to defeat and it's became dumb and stupid IMO.
I'll be sticking to Star Wars and Doctor Who Comic's for a While. |

| You're right. But it's mostly MARVEL who kills off characters for a quick buck and then resurrect them later on. But they both do that. |
