What on Earth is the purpose of this, and why did it spawn iself when trying to position a part named "Door" with Advanced Build?

Well, I would think that the joint does nothing, so I removed the weld and reset all of the values it changed... Stupid game and it thinking it knows what I want to do.
And SDuke524, Advanced Build is a feature that ROBLOX released a while back that allows for more precise construction without going through all the effort of CFraming. |

Lol, well you could put it that way... I hate when that happens.

Not a plugin, it's part of the "vanilla" system. I'm pretty sure the default visibilty in ROBLOX Studio is for it to be on, so if you fiddle around with the available buttons, you should find it.

Eh, I never do any CFraming or building. I just generate it all via script, a lot easier.

Perhaps for building complex geometric shapes, but it's inefficient for moving 1 block into an already-allotted hole XD

It's because you used the rotate button thing, this spawns a weld if it it rotated into another part. Completely normal.

I had simply used the basic translate tool, but, still, it isn't a huge deal.

Turn off the "Manual Joints" option to the right of the stud unit selection.
