| I've only done it once or twice. Incorrect, my dad did it for me. I usually do it when I have a large amount of games that I honestly can't be bummed to uninstall, and by that time I usually have a couple of viruses as well. It generally boosts your computers speed from the previous performance. The other time I did it was probably when my Internet stopped working. After about an hour of fooling around with everything, I just got it wiped. :/ |

| If you reset to factory settings then you lose everything, and you don't reinstall windows. Why wouldn't you just say reinstall OS? |

Well see thats why people are suposed to back up all thier files incase this ever happens.
There is also an option to create a restore point in time.
Press on it
And if you ever get a virus you can just make your computer to back to the time where you saved it and you should have all the files you had at that time and also no virus. |

Yeah, I've used a restore point. Restore points are set during Windows updates, yes?
I've never wiped my computer VIA setting to factory settings, so I didn't know about that, I apologize. |

You have to set the restore points manually, the updates just mean if you resore it back to the time you wont have to do all teh updates again.
When you completly wipe your computer by making it back to factory settings it will be like you just bought it.
You will have ALOT more memory and computer will run faster untill you reinstall all the crap. |
