What the rating means really is that it's intended for people with the mental-maturity of someone of that age. -------- // BlabVoid the smiling robot. |

@simmy
That is the case with games that are rated in between E-T, but in the case of M-Rated games, It is LAW that you have to be 17 to purchase them

Yes, a 17 year old must purchase them. The only games people are not allowed to play unless they are a specified age are Ao (Adult Only) games.

| The only time when a Fruit cupcake was given about a game is when I was buying Oblivion and my mom told the dude I was getting Saints row the third and he's like "NOT A GAME FOR HER!" |

@stx No one is allowed to purchase rated M games unless an adult that is 21 or older is with them. I don't know who the genius is that came up with that law. That's just a dumb law in my opinion, I don't know why they even care.

@funky I know M rated is 17 or older, but they still want ID when you purchase them. I don't know why the government cares about it so much.

@Awesome
I think the government doesn't give a crap, but ESRB does because there plan from preventing 10-year olds to play GTA IV is failing |

Funny how people brag about having rated M games and it doesn't make them seem any tougher or mature. Most of them aren't at a high maturity level to handle rated M games and yet 5 year olds play them.
