| So, why is Roblox trying to copy Mine craft all of a sudden? I get that you can get a bunch of bricks, but really? You can't really make anything good on Terrain, it'll end up flat anyways. If you want a city, it has to be flat, if you want a racetrack, it has to be flat. It's cool I guess, but copying Mine craft, really Roblox... |

| This'll mostly just end up with a bunch of noobs saying "I can make a really cool Terrain thingy!" and it'll be a bunch of hills with a hole or two, on the Front Page. |

Nope.
And MC didn't invent terrain generation. They're just using it to test the voxel engine along with supporting tons of polygons. It's not really meant for creating full games. |

| I'm planning to make a large city with a HUGE swamp around it, with a few rivers. Seriously, the tree and terrain generation things came to me right on time. I say they are useful. |

I'm loving the destructable side of it, when they add stuff like terrain actually being something in explorer, a way to reset the map and stuff im thinking of making a sortof trench warfare.
Only unlike the previous ones its totally free build and you can be destoryed anytime.
I am also waiting for more materials, grass is NOT a battlefeild! |

| good thing is the terrain generators bringing dynamic lighting into the picture... like caves re dark and you need to put in a torch or something :3 |

You could make something on aplautu so it's flat but you could make turrain over it and around it |

I can see lots of ways that the new terrain generator could be optimized and used well.
To those that insist on saying that "Mine.craft didn't invent randomized terrain generation", or "ROBLOX came before Mine.craft"; you are technically correct. Mine.craft did NOT invent the idea of randomly generating terrain for the player to use. It is a well known fact that Notch drew inspiration from Infi-miner, he has said so several times. Likewise, ROBLOX did come out before Mine.craft - in fact, Mine.craft is not truly released yet.
HOWEVER. It would be folly to say that ROBLOX did not draw inspiration from the popular indie game. I mean, they have the same textures for grass blocks! And I am rather confident when I assume that this update was started AFTER Mine.craft had reached the viral stage. Mine.craft did not invent random terrain, but it was sure the first the make it so incredibly popular.
TL;DR: The terrain update will help us. ROBLOX did "copy" Mine.craft with this new update. |

| I can see how they wilol be used well, but there is only one problem I have found. It does not create anything in the Workspace so that means that you cannot do regen stuff, unless you know the path! D: |

If you watched on the roblox blog, how he said 16 cross roads could fit in ONE map? Its cool that there changing the size, and R.T.G. is a awesome feature, and your wrong actually, you CAN build a racetrack on a mountain. XD |

| Still, it WILL be cool. Think about it. Later on, snow terrain. Desert terrain. At least we can easily make RIVERS. Not really a copy, good for making a nice RPG game. But still, 16 Crossroads. Think 'bout it BoopBawt. |

| @IcyShadows i think roblox is thinking about trying to make actual water in the future, i mean they should considering if they can do it on mine craft roblox can do it 10X better. |
