For those of you who care, im designing(irl) a new kind of deer rifle for .223 Remington and 6.8 SPR.
This rifle is semi-automatic but lacks a magazine, and rather is a combination of a break-open shotgun, a revolver, and a traditional deer rifle.
The rifles layout is similar to a Circuit Judge; it it a revolver rifle. however, this rifle incorporates a merged pistol grip and full-length stock. The revolver carousel is completley enclosed into the rifle by a plastic housing, to load/unload the rifle breaks open like a shotgun, and a spring action expells the empty shells automatically. where on a shotgun you see 1 or two barrels to put rounds, you see the back of a revolver cylinder.
The rifle will use .223 Remington rifle ammunition, and the carousel will be bottle-necked to for the neck of the round. when the weapon is closed, the carousel resets into the closest open cylinder, like on any break-open revolver. The hammer for this rifle is very unique, it has an internal hammer that can be pulled back with aid of a small bolt that manually pulls back the hammer. the rifle can be fired in semi-auto, but single action is much more accurate. The rifle can fit optical sights of any sort on a M1913 Piccany rail.
The advantage to this rifle over a semi-auto is: does not violate any magazine laws not permitting mags of over 10 rounds has a longer barrel length that an AR15 for its length is, as a revolver-type weapon, inherently hard to jam or break does not require much cleaning can be easily rechambered to .223-like rounds has a single-action system
post any comments, ideas, ect., thanks! |

and this might be a near police carbine too, as it will be cheaper to make than an AR15 or Cx4.

I am a bit worried about one thing though, this gun sounds like it could jam easily.

not really, revolvers are known to be very durable and hard to jam. and bigger rounds than the .223 have been fired in a revolver, so no pressure issues.

considering the small diameter of a .223 round, it may even be a 7 or 8 shooter.
