A Sci-Fi centered one.

Idea I propose is that Earth was embroiled in a conflict and a large portion of the population boarded a super-ship bound for a new home. They reached a desert-like planet when the ship systems failed and they plummeted down to the planet. The ship split into many tiny pieces, the largest one landing far from the other pieces. This large piece was one of the habitation and power wings of the ship, so they decide to set up a colony. Then they find themselves attacked by indigenous desert-dwellers who wish to end them.

I've got more on this idea, but I wish to hear what you all say.

I'm more intrested in the desert dwellers.
Are they as technollogically advanced?
What weapons do they use?

The desert-dwellers, I haven't decided what, or who they will be.

They'll be carrying mostly melee weapons forged from the scraps of a bygone era, as the planet was once the seat of a massive galactic empire that crumbled into pieces, for reasons unknown. A few of them use crude, short-range crossbows, or weapons salvaged from pieces of the super-ship. They are often heavily garbed in cloaks and rags that allow them to blend into the landscape yet retain their natural agility. They are formidable foes in close-range, though they quickly melt away under coordinated attacks from afar. They use the many sand-storms that occur every week to launch raids on the colony. Usually they injure a few people and steal some supplies, then flee into the desert.

The desert itself is host to a variety of vegetation that I will be working on.

Common Vegetation (Usually found anywhere, provided that they receive water at-least once a week.)

Cremsuns - These are small, soft green nuts that grow on the native trees. The inside is colored a dark, rich, crimson color, and has a mild flavor, much like rice or oatmeal. Cremsuns are the staple of colonial food, usually baked into Greensap bread or minced and mashed into a paste. Cremsuns are abundant and grow quickly, and have an astoundingly long shelf-life. They come in two varieties: Gnarled Cremsun (Good all-around), and Sweet Cremsun, which is used in the production of Cremsun Water, an alcoholic beverage favored by the so-called colonists.

Greensap - These are tubers disguised as grass, though they can be distinguished by a broader leaf. Greensap is not as abundant, but grows quickly. The tuber is normally hard and tough, with a dull white color. When cooked, Greensap tubers have a mildly-sweet flavor that makes them favorite among the children of the colony. There are three varieties: Lesser Greensap, with a small tuber that is used in the production of sweet cheese and Greensap Milk (Liquefied Lesser Greensap tubers, with a slight green color), Greater Greensap, which has a massive tuber, usually about the size of a bread loaf and used to bake Greensap bread stuffed with Cremsuns, and Elder Greensap, which has a tiny, shriveled, tuber that has a complicated cooking process of soaking in water and roasting, but produces a fluffy, sweet treat that is favored by the senior citizens of the colony.

Whitevine - Very abundant, Whitevine are white vine-like plants with an easily changed taste. They are often chopped an cooked, or merely chewed on raw, as they store water inside of them. They often grow on the colonial structures, or anywhere they can get a decent foothold, making them the ideal crop. They have a long growing cycle, though. And they provide little in the way of nutrition. They come in three varieties: Bitter Whitevine, which is identified by a slim, single growing tendril, and is used in the production of White Mead, a cheap drink that isn't alcoholic, apparently. Sweet Whitevine is usually cut and chopped into little pieces, or kept whole. As pieces, the inside is soft and pliable, so it is often used as gum, as it is sweet. As whole, one can suck on the cut end to extract the sweet juices. It serves little purpose in cooking. Sweet Whitevine is distinguished by a clump of short, smooth tendrils. Paper Whitevine is the most abundant, and is distinguished by a single long tendril that is coarse to the touch, like sandpaper. It is often used in general cooking, or as a snack, as it is easy to cut and cook, only needing a quick fry to turn it into food that can be spiced in many different ways.

Uncommon Vegetation (Spices) coming soon.

kroholjy: Sand colored, rhino like creature, with one eye on each side of it's head, and one in the front. They are a little lighter than regular rhinos, so they can stand on two feet for some time, and attack with claws on their front feet. these claws are also good for digging small holes so the can be smooth with the sand and blend in.

Frustoi: Brown, ostrich like animal, that lay big eggs, and supply very good, abundant meat.

No animals.

Deal with it.

There are large species of murky-brown scorpions referred to as Lion Scorpions, as they move surprisingly fast within short distances.

Coppermop, go ahead.

Bloodblade - Distinctive short grass, colored a deep, blood red. A small droplet of Bloodblade juice can be extracted, which is in turn made into Bloodblade Wine, an expensive and sour drink that is to be drunk sparingly, as the wine has a massive amount of distinct sour-sweet flavor, which justifies the exorbitant price of purchasing one, or the meticulous process of collecting and juicing Bloodblades. Bloodblade juice also has minor restorative properties, acting as a disinfectant without pain and speeding up the process of closing a wound.
