Why pay for books when there are better ressources for learning on the web? >_>
Anyways, I guess you should try installing it again. It'd just make no sense if you weren't able to install a program. |

I prefer reading books. It was $60, witch apparently is fairly cheap for a "How to Program With Java" book >.<

I prefer reading books too. In-fact I learned everything I know from books, C++, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Java, and Lua.
I tried an e-book once, didn't work out. |

| I once tried using a book when I was learing PHP, but in the end I decided to learn the basics from the internet (variables, loops, if statements) and then learn things as I went along, so if I wanted to run a mysql query I would search 'Running mysql queries in PHP' and get 'mysql_query("");' back. |

If Eclipse isn't working, use JCreator LE. It's what I use, and free. There's also a pro version for $.

| If I know this correctly, you don't actually _install_ Eclipse. Doesn't the download include the .exe? |

@xLegox, I had to download Java SE Runtime Environment 7 for Eclipse to work for Windows 7 64 bit.
