In the past 3% (Since I use my Kindle), it's been nothing but dialogue about Pip's visits to places I have no idea why or where they are in London.
It sucks that it is required reading for honors English at my high school. ._. |

Ok here's the deal.
TONS OF SPOILERS BELOW
Pip is a random kid who gives food to some escaped prisoner then a rich old lady orders him to start working for him and there is a girl working for the lady. Pip falls in love with the girl then he beats up some dude. Suddenly Pip learns that a secret benefactor will pay for him becoming a gentleman and it's obvious that it is the old lady but Pip is not allowed to try and find out who it is.
Pip goes to London to become a gentleman and becomes friends with the dude he beat up. They start blowing all their money and spend several chapters doing this. Then a guy shows up and SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS it's the prisoner who Pip gave food to! He was Pip's benefactor all along! W00t! He went to Australia or something and got rich!
The prisoner is still hunted and Pip have to get the idiot out of the country again. There is a boat chase down the Thames and the prisoner is caught and executed. Then Pip goes back to his home town and the old lady is dead and he meets the girl and they walk away together. End. |
