I try to make medieval Roleplays since none of the ones I find seem to be good (In my opinion at least) and every time I do make one it instantly dies lol. So, this is a colaboration for a new one. Anyone have ideas? The idea I've recently been playing with is an edited version of Oblivion, but like I said that too died instantly.

Ideas anyone?

I think one cause of the threads dying may be the long rules and information about the RP? Anyone think that might be a problem? Because I like to make the RP's as precise as possible lol, kinda like in RPG's when customizing your character, you get all these tiny details like brow depth that hardly make a difference :P

Join Scorched Earth. It's pretty amazing.
But I'll join the Collab. It gives me another chance to make Nikkotus kill things :P

Yeah I actually was just reading Scorched Earth, but eh, I dunno. I want to try and make an RP where it's realistic, and everyone has to team up to take down some huge final demon boss or something. But everyone wants to be their own Beowulf in RP's these days, not caring about teamwork or realism/being overpowered.

WHT is doing a pretty good job of making me have to think tactically to beat things. However, it seems like you want Mid-High Fantasy, not Low.
Also, don't make a concrete villain, or else people will just say "Hey, I'm gonna kill the demon" Make everyone come, and then easily kill it. Make it more of a world, where the players choose what happens.
How about this: I'll open us Paint (:P) and we'll design a world. I'll map it out, and create a backstory for whatever races you want. Then we'll post it. Sound good?

I might be able to tool up one of my old RPs into an RP, and not an Strategy.

Because, when it was a strategy, practically no one could defeat anyone without the use of another person their to help you.

Well it was actually they had to work together to basically shut these gates this demon kept opening up to the world, and eventually when enough had been shut he would get angry and reveal himself. At that point I take over control of him as well, thus making the final demon more reactive to everything.

But alright, go ahead and make the map or w/e.

Well, first off, I want to know what races you. Obviously, if it's high fantasy, we want Human, Elf, Dwarf, but what else do you want?
I'll start mapping out the continents.

This is tough.

Keeping a demon from opening up to the world? Would we just reach the demon, or must I create enemy spawns as well? At least the basic Skeletons should be included.

As far as weaponry goes, go for more primitive weapons to start off with. Spears, Wooden Bows, Bucklers, Board with a Nail e.t.c. Oh, and LOOT, it'd be all the more worthwile. I'd guess that'd be tough to manage, but, hey. Better than having to scramble to find something at the nearest blacksmith, I suppose.

How we get $$ is probably through other talents, in part of a CS. Say, if a character has a talent in fishing, he can use this tactic to generate $$.

CS, I suppose:

I can handle weapons.

I've got a list of medieval weapons we could use and what they're good at.

Yeah I had loot that I had to manage. I was going to use it to try and encourage people to go out and go stuff but, well I never got to try it lol.
I also had talents/professions in an old RP that actually did work for about a dozen pages, they were kind of hard to keep track of also.

As far as races go, Human, Dwarf, Elf and Half-Elf are obvious. We might want (half-)orcs and trolls for heavy hitters, satyrs and Shadow Elves for archery. We could have a group for mages if magic's allowed, but that'd be Shadow Elves and Imps. Other races: If you wish, add the half-roach for a disgustingly hated yet powerful being, or...nagas? (Nagas...hard to explain; use Wikipedia)

@Why

But I'm the guy who asked Fate to add a Golden Axe...

I could help. I've got a Jasper Battload of weapons; from the well-known to more obscure than Naga stuff.

I finished the map of the islands, although it's just their position, basic shape, and name.
We have Northland (The Arctic) and Southland (Antarctic)
The Wild Islands (Where the Barbarians live.)
Flameheart (A volcanic wasteland.)
Demevir (The land of the humans)
Eyrivir (The land of the elves)
Dwarves live underground. Humans live on Eyrivir as well as Demevir, and vice versa.
There are two seas (Elisyrian and Darmandian: Elis in the middle and Darmandian is the east and west.)

Its crude, and most likely geographically impossible, but it's High Fantasy, so who cares?

@Xilirite

I'd add more depth, starting with a town for (half) orcs. The Wild Islands?
I'd also have a few lakes, caves and a few dead adventurers (with loot) lying around.

Enemies, I suppose:

-Giant Snail (the basic enemy)
-Skeletons (Hold low to middle-tier weapony, a ring here and there)
-Flying Eyeball (Comment-free!)
-Vampire Bats (They'll be in every cave; it inflicts Zubatism.)
-Forest Imps (Running around with low-class weapons. The fire imps are supposed to be either side; these are the posessed.)
-Skeleton Warrior (With middle-high level equipment, and some armor)
-Sharks (can't have a RPG without these)
-Giant Squid (Supposed to be tough.)
-Roach Fighters (If not accepted as a class, these guys do insane damage, but will die in a good pierce or a loud vibration)
-Gargoyles (Throw 'em in the caves.)
-Rats (of regular size)
-Wolves (Which can be tamed eventually)
-Corrupt buffalo (Originality. Their skulls can be used as armor)
-Green Slime (Poisonous)
-Red Slime (Can use weak fire attacks)
-Blue Slime (Can survive underwater)
-Rock Monsters (Caves...)
-Large Leeches (Found in the lakes; can kill if it hits you)
-Archangels (Rare, but powerful and worth it)
-Bigger gargoyles
-Nagas (Can use most equipment.)
-Trolls (Can use most equipment)

What I have for now.

Again, it was just me laying down the geography of the world, nothing major.

@benzo

I've heard of it from Diablo, Fate, Torchlight. The Dungeon trio.

Other enemies:

-Mimics (Look like treasure chests, but they will be out to KILL YOU. High stamina, but they drop 10 items per kill, and can be found in dungeons.)
-Zombies (Games without zombies? Blasmephy.)

Map items:
-Caves: Cave creatures can be found in here, along with some boss. Lots of good stuff, though.
-Lakes. I guess if your character swims well, is a fisherman or owns a ship, you could possibly go in and grab the loot down there.
-Mines. Pickaxes are already an efficient killing tool on rocks. With all the skeletons in these, gathering gold will never look more skeletal. Oh, and GOLD.

OH OH OH! I NEED TO ELDER SCROLLS THIS RP!

-Atronach: Atronaches are golems, held together using elemental energy. The three most common are Flame, Frost, and Storm. The three rarest are Wind, Dark, and Light Atronaches, as they are very hard elements to control.
-Mighty Atronach: Only three exist in the world. They are towering monstrosities, 50 feet tall. One of them is Flame, One is Frost, One Storm. Their names are Elyrgir, Elynare, and Elysnar, respectively.

@Xilirite

Haven't played Elder Scrolls, can't really comment. Very well-described, though.

Also, a few creatures that can be tamed:

-Wolves
-Foxes
-Jaguars (stealthy and hard to see)
-Certain Sharks
-Giant Boars
-Giant Dragonflies (In a world where everything is HUGE, these would be menacing and fun to ride at 500MPH)

Any ideas for race relations? Who hates who? Who is discriminated? Who is labeled Evil?

Ok again, all I need is a plot line. (One or 2 sentences explaining the plot of something, usually for movies)

Don't shove the plot in their face, first of all. Have them slowly discover it as they talk to people in the world. Have them hear rumors, and see small little signs, little hints towards something big happening. It'll make it more interesting.

Don't even let them know that they're going to end up fighting a demon.

Disguise it with something less intimidating, such as off to deliver a message safely, encounter some bandits and whatnot, then deliver message, then come back to receive payment, and get ambushed by the demon/whatevers.
