| Russia's that friend that you almost break out into a fight with, and after, it's just all awkward, and you try to avoid each other. |

| Once you really step back and look at it, the Cold War really halted in the 80's, when Russia and the US just stopped doing stuff. At that point, it was just decided that not a tihs was to be given. |

That's true but because we had Reagan lol.
The Cold War was a conflict to determine who would be Europe's heir. |

It was at its tenses in the 80s. Regean just went, surplus? THROW IT AT THE MILITARY!
That is why the US won so hard in Gulf War 1. |

The 70s were actually peace times.
China left Russia, denting Russian nut flexing ability. The US left Vietnam denting the US nut flexing ability.
That and Nixon wanted peace, along with the fact that nothing major really happened quasi war or proxy war wise. |

| Germany will rise in power though not major until the 2020s. Then we will never hear much of it again until probably the 2100s. |

How can you not hear of a world power for 80 years?
If Germany is smart it can turn the EU into the fourth reich.
but they are not. |

Germany is in an important position for the next few 30 years. When the EU breaks up, Germany is the central axis of the Eurozone, so people will have to stop in Germany and go to reach whever they need to. This rises tourism prices and business interests, as Germany is the key to trade in Europe.
Kinda think of how things were before highways in America (IE: St. Louis explosion due to central axis in river trade but then it got side stepped by Chicago, KC, etc.) |

No, Germany will capitialize on relations with France and Russi an until Second Cold War breaks out and they cease to be world power due to their inactivity in that conflict and lose their power to Poland basically after they are propped up by the US.
Being in the center makes them a key target for smashing. |

but they are not. - Uh....DERPDERPDERPDERPDERPDERP!
Most technological advancements we take for granted are German. Think about that next time you pop asprin.
And its possible for super powers to go off the map for long times.
IE: Mexico post 1820s. |

Honestly though if Germany is Smart it can use it's bail out money to control to control the economies of EU countries.
Once a country economicly relies on you, they are at your mercy, as logn as they can't invade you, which you can't do to Germany as long as the euro zone exists |
