tl;dr: A button that allows you to block certain players. Whenever a player that you blocked PM's you, you will not be able to see that message. And whenever they speak in-game, you will not be able to see their in-game chat.
As it is very well known, this may be one of the most re-suggested ideas of this forum. However, as it appears that after so many years this feature was needed, and the major importance that the implementation of this is, for me it feels that it must be suggested once more.
On many occasions a player can be harassed in game. You can tell them to stop, and tell them that they are not "participating" in the conversation any longer, however they continue to trash talk you no matter what you do. Then you pretend that you have switched to SuperSafe chat, but in reality, you can't switch to SuperSafe mid game.
There are users that are in even worse cases. PM arguments can go on forever, and when you just want to stop being trash-talked, the only thing you can do is make yourself SuperSafe.
This is not very good, and to think than everyone has such a large power of detracting from your fun on ROBLOX is a huge problem.
What has frustrated me the most is how such a large problem of arguing, disputes and other conflicts, could be solved with such a simple feature that nearly every game that has a social aspect to it has.
There's been a very large amount of "social" updates to ROBLOX. There's even been a video ad on Shedletsky's YouTube that mainly addressed the "social" aspect of the game. How you can communicate with other players in virtual cafe's, make friends, and a lot of other stuff.
It is easy to see that they added the status update feature to add more onto the social aspect of the game.
However, the fundamentals need to be built upon first. I'm sure the administrators have seen block feature suggestions beforehand, however they were too busy with other updates.
To me, something as important as a block feature has to be done before anything. It could take as little as 1-2 hours. I have been on this forum since early 2009, and I have seen this many times. I'm sure this has been suggested even before then, most likely as long as the Suggestions & Ideas forum has existed.
I'd definitely feel guilt if I were to call the developers of this game lazy, but this game has been going on for quite a while. I would've expected the Block feature to be around since the day ROBLOX was released to the public. It's something that just about every online game has, and it's very hard to say why ROBLOX never had a block feature as well.
Every day that it's pushed to the side on their to-do list there is a very harsh argument going on. I hate to be so negative on what the community is like, but it seems like every 1/5 places I go to there is an argument going on. Even if developer team devises a plan to help the community get along better, the community will never be fully controlled unless there is a moderator inspecting every server.
The block feature is a necessity and it's been too many years without it. Even if the reason it can't be added is that it would not work with some of the code that goes into the chat and PM's, it's so important that I would want you to re-code it.
How the idea would work would be just like the feature where you could add friends in-game. You'd click on their name in the leaderboard and then click "Block User." There could be a Blocked Users list in the Menu and Account settings and from there you could unblock people.
There'd also be a block button on everyone's profile too. It could be right next to/under the "Add Best Friend" button.
It would work just like any other Block Feature in just about, any other game.
That's all I can say about such a simple idea. I really hope that the developer team doesn't decide to just do it later, as I strongly feel that it has to be done as soon as possible. If you support this idea, please try bumping it a few times.
Thank you for reading this, h1ghwisdom1 |

Thanks for the support. And yes, it did take some time to write this. I'd think it would be around 10 minutes. But I feel strongly about this topic enough to write 10 pages. ;) |

Jeez man, you sure like to bump.
Anyways, I was going to write a 10 paragraph report stating how I LOVE this idea, but it got lost in a systems crash, so here's an abstract of it;

The staff of Roblox must put this on the top of their to-do-list. Just push the hard scripting and hat/gear making out first and get this HUGE part of Roblox out of the way, also what about the forums? Like will you see the forum posts too or not?

I agree, this Ignore/Block button should be added to ROBLOX as soon as possible. There are many arguments, disputes, trash talking, and unfriendly debates going around in roblox. I see them very frequently. If they ever wonder why there are so many problems in ROBLOX, it is because they have not added an Ignore/Block button. They keep adding new updates that are huge, and they cannot add an Ignore/Block button? They should stop those updates for a moment, work on the Ignore/Block button, then Moderators and Administrators would have to do less work. This will reduce the disputes, arguements, and trash talking by at least 10%-5% or more. All these arguements are destroying the roblox community and making people quit in some cases. I 100% support this idea and all the other threads related to this topic.
