| COmmunism is supposed to be a good thing. As, everything is owned by the people. That includes money. Unfortunately, many communist leaders used this as a promise like candidates do in an election. So after they take control of the country, they take the worker paradise and turn it into a hellish nightmare... That would explain Stalin and Mao. Any comments? |

| Albeit brutal, Mao was an excellent disciplinarian, even though his contributions are partially why the Chinese are such robots now. |

"Where have you been the last 30 years..." If your referring to after Mao's death- then you must not realize that after he died- the Western backed capitalists fractions took power and marketing most of the economy- hence destroying everything Mao did. |

I hate you and everyone that does this. Just kidding, but please try to understand that totalitariansim isn't communism. That's why we call it totalitarianism. |

How can you justify equal compensation for unequal labor? |

| Well is it morally ok that someone who has just manipulated the markets and such has several millions whilst someone doing hard labour is barely above the poverty line? |

(Copy and pasted from another thread I posted on):
Erm...I'm from China and it's accually not as bad as everyone thinks, the stupid politics and media makes it look so horrible but the standard of life and respect is better than most americans also it is effient in it's ways of governing since the there is only 1 political party. I'm happy with things in China. |

Well is it morally ok that someone who has just manipulated the markets and such has several millions whilst someone doing hard labour is barely above the poverty line? ___ Yes, it is. Being wealthy is a matter of striving towards it. The Man isn't trying to keep you down. You have got to have ambition. My dad? Poor farm boy turned Ph.D. We can even take the example of our own zct. He is not particularly wealthy, and could not outright afford college. But he decided to do extra work and take a pharmacist program in his school. TG is also involved in a vigorous program, where he chooses to take extra work. Why? Because it will likely improve his future.
These opportunities are available to everyone. Poverty is cultural.
I will also analyze your statement. The poor in America are not poor. They are not doing hard labor. http://www.heritage.org/research/reports/2007/08/how-poor-are-americas-poor-examining-the-plague-of-poverty-in-america
There's no way to calculate one man's productivity, and all are dependent on all. It's in no way immoral. ___ Really? So you're telling me 12 years of education (including a residency) to become a doctor doesn't make you any more valuable to society? |

They are not! One drives around in a truck and picks up garbage. The other cares for thousands of sickly and dying people. Garbage pickup could theoretically be mechanized.
Does twelve years of education count for nothing? That's most of YOUR life. Would you give two kids the same grade if one did, by far, less work? |

As I said, mobility is culturally driven. If you are driven by the culture that "The Man" is trying to keep you down and there is nothing you can do with your life, YOU WILL DO NOTHING WITH YOUR LIFE! It's that simple.
I don't expect mobility from those who believe they can't be mobile. |
