Nothing.
No nuclear weapons will ever be used in combat again because of the devastating after-affects of it.
There are no winners in a nuclear war.

| Look, I didn't ask for you opinion on whether or not it would happen, or what your military response would be in a strategy game. I wanted your reaction in real life were it to actually happen. |

Well, for one, the U.S government would do the only thing sensible to them
They would give many billions of dollars to GM. |

I assumed it was a rhetorical question because nuclear weapons wont ever be used.
It's not an opinion, its fact.

Last year a nuclear missile was launched from north Korea at Japan, however due to a structural malfunction it never made it there. You argument is invalid. Oh, and we knew about the whole fallout and radiation thing when we dropped the nukes on Japan, we just don't admit it in your average history text. |

Of course we knew it when we nuked japan.
Because of it, no nuclear bombs will be used again because everyone knows its pointless.

| Also, social scintists and politicians and military strategists almost (almost) universally agree that nuclear warefare is inevitable, however it is a long way off unless Iran or North Korea do something stupid. |

If one drops one nuke on the other it causes a chain reaction that results in a destroyed world.
Any sixth grader knows this.

| Inherent problem in your reasoning, it's called North Korea, they do not realize this. |

"It's called North Korea"
Have they activated a nuclear bomb yet? No.
They never will either.

| Actually, they had 2 successful tests about 10 years ago, they attempted to launch one at Japan last year but it only made it 60 miles off shore before suffering a structural failure, but when a recovery boat found it the warhead was still operational. |

Alas, it failed. That was why i said they haven't activated any.
Don't you think they are under supervision after that to prevent any nukes from launching?

| Thing is, they also have the old Soviet ones that do work. They also have the capacity to build another the might work. Murphy's law at work. |
