| How would the people know you are a good scripter? Besides, if you get recruited, you will start at a writer, and how many pages can they edit? 2%? |

@BunnyBoy
I thought Wiki writers could create pages at will. |

Almost any... I think.
Except for those specifically locked by the wiki's admins, writers can change any page. |

You'll have no chance at failing an application for becoming a Wiki writer. You seem to know your stuff. The best thing you can work on is how you PRESENT the information. Presentation is key to becoming a Wiki writer.
Believe it or not, but some people think I am a Wiki writer myself, which is completely untrue. :O |

| Nope, they can only edit unlocked pages, which I haven't officially seen any of. Only Admins, sysops, or editors can edit locked pages. |

http://wiki.roblox.com/index.php?title=Math&action=edit "The action you have requested is limited to users in one of the groups Sysops, Editors, writer."
First article I tried.
http://wiki.roblox.com/index.php?title=Talk:How_do_I_make_VIP_doors%3F&action=edit http://wiki.roblox.com/index.php/RBX.lua.Lighting_%28Object%29 http://wiki.roblox.com/index.php/ChildAdded_%28Event%29 http://wiki.roblox.com/index.php/Class_reference
I'm having trouble finding LOCKED pages besides the main page. |

@BB26 Yes, there's an application process that MDB uses. |

@AFF
Why, thank you. I've been told the same by many people, which is why I'm going to start making models proving that I am able to script in Lua efficiently (hence my primary group).
@BunnyBoy
Yeah, MDB posts a thread about it in Scripters maybe every 9 months. |

Making working bits of code is only half of the process. If you want to be a writer, you also need to be able to explain the background processes involved in the code. Of course, some of the core functions don't have readable source, but your own code does; you need to explain it in a way other people with limited scripting knowledge can understand it.
^ Only if you didn't see the part about presentation in my post. ^ |

| Okay, I really want to be a wiki writer, I am very good at scripting but I always miss MDB's application posts in the scripters forum. I'm always here, not in the scripters forum. How do I know when he posts? |

@AFF
Yes, I know someone (or rather seen someone on this forum) that has failed because 'they said I couldn't explain my code'. I'm going to be trying hard to get to be a Wiki writer this year.
But back to my original question. Am I more likely to be 'noticed' more in SH or Scripters? |

I believe that group will create a shout telling you when MDB is holding applications. At least, one of my other accounts' groups did (it was a Lua group). |

| Wiki is not all that.. most of the really good scripters don't even go at it. |

MDB doesn't like using forum posts as examples of work (because of formatting issues). I suggest you stay in SH for two reasons:
1) Scripters = Trolls; they belong under a bridge (that's why their forum is at the bottom) ^ Most important ^ 2) You'll explain more things to people in SH than you would in Scripters. |

Oh yeah, I've seen more than a couple threads from Scripters. I just thought that maybe MDB read that forum more. |

Anyone on the staff can edit any page however, if the page gets reviewed by a reviewer then whwm you make a change it won't show until reviewed again by another reviewer or you click "view draft" on the page. Also you're better than some of the writers already. Just make sure when the recruitment search comes around you have something to show for it.

Why not submit an application? I'm pretty sure you have what it takes @AFF.

It's not influenced by whether or not you go to scripters. ArceusInantor (a popular wiki editor) was completely unheard of when he was first admitted to the wiki.
It's all about your ability to show of your skillz. I just linked to a few pastebins of some *very* complex things I had made in the past and ta-da, I am a wiki writer.
You'll have to wait for the next application session though.
