The cars are from the 1970 World Sportscar Championship season.
To be more specific, the cars are from the 1970 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The track is run on the Indianapolis OVAL, and is actually 24 minutes.

He manages to keep his car on the track and continue, and he is still somehow in 2nd.
However, Elford already has a lead of 1 second in the first minute. |
