Instituto La Salle de Chihuahua (my school) has a special program. This is called "Programa para Alumnos de Avanzado Rendimiento" (PAAR, for short, translates to Program for Students of Advanced Performance), a program that started five years ago in the school funded by businessmen in Chihuahua specifically for students in my school that demonstrate excellent performance.
This program is quite an opportunity. Not only do you take advanced classes in English (which is just what I need, speak English everyday to speak it properly) it opens you many doors and gives you many opportunities to study in excellent universities and colleges in the United States. Today we had a conference about it and one ex-PAAR (he already completed the program, earned a scholarship in the United States and takes Honors Engineering in a university I don't remember) told us how it was. The current PAAR's told us they had traveled around in the US, visiting universities and even taking one class in them.
There's people who attained high scholarship percentages for colleges in the US, one even received a 90%.
This program is quite a chore, obviously. Afternoon exams and visits to El Paso to take exams like the SAT, needless to say highly demanding. If they pick me, I'm going to start the pre-program in Monday, this semester they will pick out those who will stay all the 3 years and take the full program. But I'm not sure if I want to go to the US...what do you say guys? |

| Studying in German is hard. Especially since they make you wait and there is no sports teams. |

Well, I mean, to get into a univeristy, you need to pass the Abitur and you usually have to wait a little before you take it.
However, if you do go, go to the University of Mainz. My dad graduated from there. |
