I'd like to hear your views compared to your parents. But they don't prove anything. Studies show that parents affect their childrens view overwhelmingly... But there are differences. 83% of Republicans say their parents were Republicans. But only 45% of Democrats say their parents were Democrats. 53% of Independents say their parents were Independents.
I think Republicans have Republican parents because they were brought up in, well, more conservative families that emphasize family values, manners, etc. whereas Democrats are brought up in households where parents are more, well, liberal. They
My parents are also conservative, but we certainly don't agree on every issue. |

My parents are extremely out dated extremely strict Buddhists, and far right. They think that young people have no rights against their elders and that free speech and internet anonymity are bad things.
I'm an Atheist, Socialist, an AntiSec hacktivist.
Do I need to say more? |

No, but it still doesn't prove anything.
Usually it's liberals that support free speech restrictions. |

I was raised in an open-minded, liberal house hold.
My dad used to be a part of the Youth Division of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and my mom has always been a liberal minded person.
That hasn't really changed my view on politics however, because I research most of my stuff. |

| My parents haven't affected my views either. My parents are conservative but still open minded about things. |

My dad is a strong supporter of the Free Democratic Party. My mom is a supporter of the Green Party. My mom and dad both support the Indepedent Party in South Africa because they are fed up with the corruption of the ANC.
I guess I support the Indepedent Party since its anti-ANC and ANC is extremely corrupt. |

Hahahahaha I barely know anything about my father's views.
My mother is skeptic of Mexican politics and always gives her vote for the most unknown and independent candidate.
I, myself don't really have much of an ideology and I do not follow a specific political party. Regardless of how apathetic my parents are towards Mexican politics, I believe they had little impact on my own beliefs.
But religion, on the other hand... |

| Both my parents, and my grandparents on my dad's side (I dont think my grandparents on my moms side are really political.) are Republican, so that gave me a start, but the rest of my decisions are mine. |

It'd depend on the sort of relationship I suppose.
My Uncle has always been the most political person in my family. |

I seem to be the most political person in my family, but my parents vote Republican. They seem to vote republican out of convenience, for they couldn't pay any less attention to politics.
Kinda sad, people like my parents shouldn't be allowed to vote. Me and my dad basically eenie-meenie'd the local ballot last year, and while lolful it was a bit sad. |

My mother, an athiest, who hardly cares about all this, he never really mentions that she's christian though she says she doubts God.
I myself am an athiest and so is my whole family, I don't practice any other religion. |
