To: All Americans who belive in their country
For one month, look at everything you buy, if it says "Made in China," or any other Asian contry, do NOT buy it. Even if this costs you more money, it will create jobs in America, and make America more dependant on itself. Stop importing from communist countries! If you agree, reply to this thread. |

Hee hee, good idea! Next thing you know, the Chinese dictator is calling the US government on the phone, screaming "CHING CHANG CHONG, LING LONG, SHAO LING!!!!!!!!".
Okay. That was a little racist. |

Its just as expensive for a country to manufacture their own goods as it is to buy them, the country has to purchase the raw materials, then put them together, AND pay the workers for doing it. Even if others are overpricing the things we import its still cheaper.

@deletion: Even so, like I said, it WILL cost more, but after that heppens we can get everything here, and the price will drop. If WE make it, we know what's in it. And I'm not talking about big things, I'm talking about small things like food, toys, and stuff we can do in America.

@deletion What you don't understand though is the labor standards in foreign countries are cheaper because their employees will not get retirement, bonuses or sometimes even a decent level of safety. In America, we have safety regulations, wage minimums and retirement plans, which are more expensive, which adds to the cost of the final product made. This is why getting stuff from China is cheaper, but I agree with KRio that if America becomes more dependent on itself, our economy will improve more and American citizens' lives will be better. By the way, did I mention that no matter how much of a premium it is to buy from America, we are also helping our very neighbors in our country? The more dependent a country is on itself, the better.

What's funny is, most people complaining about this thread obviously didn't read it, because he said that if you agree to it, reply. They could have sent the creator a PM if they wanted to.

Does anyone know about how much debt we are in to other countries? If we stop buying from them, then china( for example) would say "if you stop buying from us, then i want you to pay all of your debt to us NOW!". If we then say No, then it may cause some problems. China would say that the money we gave them was a loan, not a donation. We would say that we don't have the money to pay you back. This would cause a world war or something less violent but equally big.

@pokeball Actually, if America generated its own revenue with jobs, couldn't we pay the debt off? I'm sorry that I'm using logic.

Free trade and globalization is how we as a people successfully advance - if 300 million zoom ahead of 7 billion, that's not advancing mankind as a whole, now is it?

If the 300 million that zoom ahead are willing to work hard for themselves and advance, let them. Why are you on a PC if you think that everyone has to be advanced before anyone advances by him or herself?
