Yes, I know, I'm already running one collab, but now it's Medieval.

With spears.



It's one of those "build-an-empire" kinda RPs, but we're not talking swords, magic, and battles of 20 elves, or dwarves, or whatever you kids are into these days.

We're talking spears, bows, diplomacy, and battles of thousands of soldiers at once.

For battle simulation, I'll fire up Medieval 2 Total War.

For now, I just need support.

Erm... Istead of one leading a coutry, maybey, if the owner allows it have a governor? and, you should download some accuracy mods for Medieval, so your sims are more realistic, I mean, my english king, body guard. 2 more cavarly take on a rebel base with 9 units and win?

Actually, I have new idea. It's a fictional world, but the technology is practically the same as the medieval times.

You are different military generals operating for an empire that is attempting to subjugate a rebel country. The monarch will promote one of you to the prestigious rank of commander of, well, everything. Because the monarchs are sometimes lazy like that. As a result, the players will fight the armies of other players in an attempt to eliminate them. Each military general is tasked with conquering a certain strongpoint, such as a town or fortress, using units they recruit and train, or mercenaries.

There are 5 schools of commanders. Each has a strength, a weakness, and special units. A member of one school cannot attack a member of another school.

Players may die in battle.

You all belong to the same Empire.

You attempt to kill other commanders to steal the glory for yourself. Or make alliances.

The monarch cares more about himself than anything, so that's why this happens.

In order to build up your army, you must defeat armies of roaming rebels to earn money.

You start out with a small selection of basic soldiers. One Bodyguard Unit, two Town Militia Units, and one Peasant Archer Unit.

Excellent. Are Morale, Discipline, Hunger and Time ((Time of day, how long you've been fighting an enemy, time of year....)) a factor in this?

TAY's got a good idea. Add X-Factors into the SIM. Do the battle in Medieval II (If you're still doing that.) and then add X-Factors yourself and modify the outcome of the SIM.

((Revolt? Fleeing during battle? Time, if you are facing an enemy in th east, and it's near sunrise you will be half blinded? All important factors....))

Peasant rebellions, routing, individual captains deserting and joining the enemy, all possible.

Weather and time of day will effect the outcome, too.

Experience factors into this.

A unit will gain experience after battle, up to 9, which improves them greatly.

More morale gives them a temporary experience point or two that makes them less prone to routing and fleeing.

It will be the Early Medieval Age in the beginning. A lot of light infantry and cavalry.

Ballistas, Catapults, Trebuchets, Rams, Siege Towers, Ladders, Bombards, Culverins, Ribaults, all of them.
