If nobody knows what im talking about here let me give you an overview of what i know from the news.
So apparently this guy was walking around with a gun and threatening to shoot police officers and apparently he did shoot at one. The police retaliated and shot him dead. His family and friends said that was out of order to shoot him.
In the aftermath of this people started to riot against the police in different cities but mainly London. People have been looting shops, burning cars and buildings and just being reckless. Innocent people are being hurt and are having to flee their homes in fear that they will be harmed. |

| Where are the riots when a cop gets shot? There are only riots when a criminal gets shot. |

I have a pretty strong opinion on this although i live nowhere near the riots. Maybe shooting that man was wrong but that does not give people the right to burn things and risk more human lives. |

@River My point exactly There were a few riots a year or two ago when a police officer beat a man to death at the G20 summit that happened in london, people rioted then. |

| Perhaps the man was a psycho, and he was going to hurt innocent people. |

@River Yeh perhaps You cant go toting a gun around a public place and threaten police officers and not expect a retaliation. But his family say he wouldn't do that. |

| And doesn't a family always regard the person as harmless? I'm not sure if you've heard about that serial killer in Cleavland or not, Anthony Sowell, but that's a good example. |

Didn't it start out as a protest against police brutality? But then a group splintered off and got violent, and people used it as an opportunity to riot and loot, and it just went it circles like that, growing. And now the police aren't doing ENOUGH. Ironic, eh? |

@Coole
He opened fire in a public place, at a police office, who was innocent of any abuse towards the dead man. The dead man is a criminal. |

No i have not heard about it.
Also that's the big debate, was the man innocent or did the police make the right decision to shoot? |

There were a few riots a year or two ago when a police officer beat a man to death at the G20 summit that happened in london, people rioted then.
That was different, the man clearly posed no threat, and the police officer had no intention of killing him.
But yeah, the looters are scum. They should be lined up against a wall and shot. People in the middle east are being executed for peaceful protests, and next to nothing is happening here. |

| I think the man was a criminal, and the police made the right decision to shoot. Now, obviously, he could have shot a non-vital area, but he did what he had to do. |

| Yeh it did start as a protest against police brutality, but now its just an excuse to loot and cause carnage. |
