For centuries Humankind lived silently and fearfully in their interlocking cities in the west, afraid to venture outside the cities, fearful of the other races, building walls around themselves and their trading routes with each other. The Templar Knights were founded by the Kings and Queens to protect Humankind from a threat that didn't exist, the supposed threat of outside Magic Users. The Hospitaller Knights were formed by the Alchemists and Mages, to protect from yet another threat that was not even there, an outside army that people swore they saw on the horizon. What they actually did see were trade Caravans. Many other orders were founded along the years, but more recently the Scholars were founded, an underground group formed by the young Mages, Alchemists, Knights and even the Assassins, dedicated not to killing outsiders that approached and 'defending' from threats that weren't there, but to learning about the outside world. The Scholars clothed themselves in heavy plate armour and wielded long swords and hammers, and their mark was that of a Knight's Helmet flanked by two hooded monks, their hands clasped in prayer and their faces downturned, and beneath it a scroll with the words 'In Search of Truth'.
And so, in the Second Era of the Continent of Yaelna, in the Third Year of the Rule of Human King Rolfhendric and his Queen Esmrilda over the Human Cities, the Scholars left the 'safety' of the Cities, and ventured out into Yaelna to prove that no threat lay beyond the great city walls. But the Knights Hospitaller and Templar have other plans for the future of Yaelna.
======================================================== THE FACTIONS
The Scholars Their mark is that of a Knight's Helmet flanked by two hooded monks in prayer with faces downturned, beneath it a scroll bearing 'In Search of Truth'. They are clad in heavy Platemail and are dedicated to the search of Knowledge and Wisdom, and to show other humans that the outside world is not to be feared. They are taught in the arts of Literature, Speech, the Blade and the Hammer, and fine art.
The Knights Hospitaller The Knights Hospitaller are the Elite Fighting Force of the Humans, clad in Platemail and bearing Black Surcoats embossed with White Crosses, their shields adorned with a similar design. They have possession of the Sunder Culverin, an Enormous Cannon wheeled into battle and firing Enchanted Iron Shells Half a Metre in Diameter. Their armour is usually dark in colour save for the White Cross. They are trained in the Blade and Shield, the Axe, Archery, the Hammer, the use of the Sunder Culverin, and in the art of Hand to Hand Combat.
The Knights Templar The Knights Templar destroy Magic in all it's forms, and wear mainly Chainmail with their signature Helmet. They wear Silver or White Armour, and over their armour a White Surcoat bearing a Red Cross. They possess the Puris Howitz, an artefact that destroys all beings of Magic and users of Magic not warded by the Templars in a specified radius. They are trained in the Blade and Shield, and in 'Purification' Magic. They are also politically powerful. ======================================================== MAJOR CITIES
WESTERN CITIES Crestview The Human Capital, linked with Deerbridge and Shardheight. It is the centre of the Interlinked Human Cities and serves as the centre of Political Might among Humans. The Knights Templar call this place home. Only Populated by Humans.
Deerbridge Deerbridge is the centre of Commerce among Humans, linked with Crestview and Shardheight. The Scholars originated here. Only Populated by Humans.
Shardheight The Centre of Military Might among Humans, and where the Knights Hospitaller call home. Only Populated by Humans.
Vel'crath Dwarven Capital City far north-east of the Human Cities, and home of a might mining operation. Very wealthy city carved into the Side of the Ashfell Mountains, populated by many of Yaelna's races. It gleams and shines in the morning light.
EASTERN CITIES Selvu The Elven Capital, a powerhouse of Politics and Art, deep within the Eastern Forest. Populated by many of Yaelna's races.
NORTHERN CITIES Froshei The Frozen Northen City, famed for it's mixing of Magic and Mechanics. Populated mainly by the Furred Anthropomorphics who can easily handle the cold, but also by other races such as Ice Golems. Other races not so used to the cold will also journey here on occasion.

======================================================== LAND
Yaelna is generally divided into North, East, South and West by the general landscape. The South is Desert surrounded by mountains, and isn't actually south of Western Yaelna, which is coastland, plains, and valleys, with the Ashfell mountains joining it to North and South Yaelna. North Yaelna is frozen arctic tundra and frozen seas, and East Yaelna is temperate Forest and Woodland. ======================================================== Name: @ge: Race: Gender: Appearance: Clothing: Bio:
Yes, that's right, no slot for weapons or faction. Faction goes into Bio, Weapons into clothing. ======================================================== Want a Faction, Race or City? Faction and Races should be messaged to me and I'll post them if I accept them. Large Cities and Major towns are the same, but small unimportant cities, towns and villages will just be described in RP as they are reached. |

Sorry guys, it's not letting me post the Race s. You've got your Standard Fantasy Fare, then you've got the two races me and Sky posted on the earlier "Scholarship" thread we used to collaborate. [ http://www.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=49742064 ]

| Well, Templars train from 11, but only enter active service at 22. Hospitallers train from 16, entering service at 20. Scholars accept anyone who is 19 or over. |

| Accepted. Also, the Elves in this are not the 'Automatically better than Humans at everything EVER' kind. |

Name: Yareth Jilenson @ge: 29 Race: Human Gender: Male Appearance: Yareth is a tall, lanky man, standing at 6' 4", with a skeletal build, and skin paled near the point of a corpse from years spent inside with his face buried in Dusty Tomes. He has ragged dirty blond hair hanging well past his shoulders, matted and unwashed, although the rest of his body is washed, enough. His eyes are a dusty brown, and dart from place to place, fixating on whatever he finds interesting until all information has been gleaned from it's depths. His features are sharp and defined by a lack of fat, and his fingers are horridly slim and dexterous. Clothing: Yareth doesn't dress as many other Scholars do, his armour consisting solely of a chainmail vest and fingerless leather gloves and bracers backed with plate and chain, not having the strength to don a full suit of armour. He hides the Chainmail Vest under a sleeveless carmine robe cut open down the front, with a white cotton shirt with the sleeves rolled up between robe and chainmail. Four leather belts with various ornamental buckles lie sagged around his waist, doing nothing to hold up his thick brown cloth trousers, especially with all the pouches and bags hanging from the belts. A leather satchel rests against his left hip, hanging from his right shoulder, and hidden under his robe, strapped to his back, is the sheath of a Damascus Steel Single-Edged Dagger, slightly curved with a brass crucifix-style crossguard and red-leather hilt. His feet are covered by the typical leather boots, reaching to the knee, with his trousers tucked into them. The Boots have more buckles than is necessary, and each one has a small pouch on the outer side. Bio: One of the Founders of the Scholars, Yareth was a Librarian in Deerbridge before the Scholars were founded, allowing the backrooms of the Library to be used by the other few people that would later found the Scholars alongside him. He is no Grand Knight, nor a Powerful Mage, but his knowledge of the lands is almost unparalleled. (Not difficult when almost everyone else is Xenophobic and afraid to leave the City Walls.) |

Name: Weslon Meser Age: Thirty Race: Human Gender: Male Appearance: Bald. Though he does sport a thick, bushy light-brown mustache. His eyes are a dull blue, suggesting that he isn't all that smart. Muscled, fit, and of average height, he is a natural-born warrior, physically wise. Clothing: Somewhat more xenophobic than his companions, he had garbed himself in a plain steel cuirass belted with leather, over his standard chainmail, with the Templar emblem on a surcoat over everything. Underneath, he wears a simple brown cotton tunic and leather leggings with steel-plated boots, as well as the iconic helmet. He is usually equipped with a plain steel broadsword and wooden kite-shield with the Templar emblem imprinted on the wood. Bio: He is not a well known member of the Knights Templar, however desperate to prove himself. He believes that if he can reduce the threat of foreign invasion from outside forces by going out there himself, then he will do so.
(I'm going to be gone for a while, awesome DLC for Borderlands that I want to play.)

(Starting post of boredom and not in own home)
Yareth held a small quill in his mouth as he looked over the caravan, a meagre affair of three horse-drawn carts with mercenaries who were obviously rookie 'adventurers' picked off the streets for cheap. Of course, you couldn't really call them adventurers when they were so afraid to venture from the city gates that they took up jobs killing rats in people's basements for copper tokens. He smiled as he saw all was in order, and took the quill in hand, dipping it into a small pouch full of ink on one of his many belts, before scribbling notes down on a small notepad. He tucked them both away with a grin, before clambering on the back cart, which held his belongings in three gilded mahogany chests. |
